    Vlad will make $25-$27M in in Arb, why the F would he take a contract for $20M AAV on a 10 yr deal. Why would a 26 yr old FA sign a less than 10 year deal, so that brings it to $20M. No fnn way. Even Vladdy said during an interview yesterday that baseball is a business. His agent will advise him, his dad will advise him, you don't give discounts, you get paid as much as you can.

    You have a point. However, I will say that Jim and I knew Adell would be a bust We were both playing hot potato with him in fantasy. Jim traded him to me for Pearson, but I knew I was going to flip him, which I did for Dylan Carlson and a high Yankee SP spec who amounted to nothing, ICR his name. So looking back on it we all got screwed in one of our evaluations after a while. Pearson, Carlson, the Yankees SP and Adel all ended up sucking. lol

    Al Leiter on MLB TV says he is very familiar with Wagner since his son played with him/against him or something. Says he is LEGIT. Great contact and base on ball skills.

    You are picking some real doozies to make your point. Even I didn't trust Adel or Pache's hit tools when they were specs. Brujan always had questions about his hit tool. Reg flags on Trammel when he was a spec. I would hope the FO evaluation would be better that. Thought I am arguing against myself, since I am not confident in the FO's talent assessment as to their overall body of work.

    I didn't say Henderson and Westburg, nor Skabul. No way in hell the Orioles do that. I said TYPE of prospects. High first round pick types and high spec SPs.

    If someone asked me if I would rather have a Gunner Henderson and Jordan Westburg type or a Westburg and Tarik Skabul type SP prospect, or Vlad, I would take the two players. If you did trade Vlad and you were smart about it, that's what you could get, at least. You would have to do it now though.

    I agree with giving pause on Vladdy. Still a SSS compared to the past two years and the start of the season. Guys go on heaters. If you don’t trade him by 6 pm tonight, you do NOT give a contract extension until at least end of season when you have the full body of work to evaluate. Shapiro also is known to believe fans come to see winning teams, not specific players. I agree with Shapiro on this. If you are looking for what’s best for the team long run. I would be very hesitant to dump almost $400 into just Vlad.

    I have heard multiple industry sources say, and it tracks in my opinion, that if Vlad sustains the current numbers, you will need a just under $400 m contract. Probably something like $390 for 13 yrs.
