  1. I really hope they invest in some good pitching this offseason. No need to waste year 2 of Vlad/Bo.
  2. Anthony Kay's fastball:
  3. I think we could've gotten something worthwhile for Galvis in the offseason. The Phillies got Enyel de los Santos for him before. I understand doing the guy a solid and moving him to where he can get everyday SS reps though.
  4. We likely won’t be hitting the $160-$170M threshold until we’re firmly established as a competitive team, but I could envision starting next season with a $120M payroll. We have what, $50M in commuted salaries next season with arb raises and options picked up? That still leaves a ton of money to be spent, and I can’t imagine they spend it all on cheap vets. I could see them adding atleast 1 guy on a 3-4 year deal (i.e Wheeler or Odorizzi).
  5. Interesting comments by Shapiro. It actually leads me to believe that they might end up making a couple big moves this offseason:
  6. Patrick Murphy curves:
  7. Some GIF's courtesy of Ryan D on Twitter: Joey Murray:
  8. What stood out to me the most from Atkins interview yesterday: "We could envision a scenario where all we do this winter is go out and add pitching". I hope this is what they end up doing. There are some good budget friendly mid-rotation guys we could end up going for (Odorizzi? Miley? Roark?) that could really help this staff. They're likely not going to splurge on a Gerrit Cole even though they could clearly afford it, but I would hope they add at least two proven mid-rotation guys. We're likely going to have a payroll of $50M heading into next season, and that's if you give everyone generous arb raises and pick up Galvis' option. Even if our payroll is limited to what it was this season, we'll still have a ton of money to spend.
  9. Not bad for an 18 year old in High-A.
  10. I didn't realize how well McKinney was doing since his demotion to AAA: 33 games, .288/.401/.517, 21 BB/20 K, 132 wRC+
  11. Simeon Woods-Richardson in his 2nd High-A start so far: 4IP 4H 3ER 0BB 6K 48 pitches Glad to see him still racking up the K's and not walking anyone.
  12. Plays a really good 3B too. I still wouldn't be surprised with a breakout next season.
  13. Fantastic in 2017. Freefall ever since, but a guy definitely worth giving a shot to.
  14. SWR final line in his Dunedin debut: 3.2IP 1H 3ER 4BB 5K He was cruising through 3 perfect innings before he gave up 4 walks and then a double.
  15. 450 ft. At 20 years old. The kid is going to be hitting 500 ft bombs when he actually grows into his power.
  16. Holy f*** Vladdy
  17. I’ve said it already, but him doing well in High-A at his age could’ve led to him becoming a pretty untouchable prospect. I haven’t heard Atkins be this excited about a prospect since Nate Pearson
  18. I wouldn’t mind the higher draft pick and pool, but I’d also like our future core pieces to not look like s*** and win some games down the stretch. And this regime has been going on 4 years of being able to draft well no matter where they’ve picked. The draft is the least of our concerns.
  19. I’m probably the highest guy you can find on this board on Cal Stevenson, and even I can admit you’ll never be able to judge a 10th round $5000 signing until he hits well in AA. Realistically, the Jays probably have the most reliable intel on Stevenson. There’s probably something in his game that they feel won’t really translate to the major league level or some other flaws that we can’t notice in the stat line.
  20. I can quite easily see Fisher putting up 115 wRC+ during a full season and playing average to above defense. That’s what, a 2WAR OF? That’ll actually go along way into solidifying our OF. Assuming Grichuk gets back on track, I’m feeling a little more comfortable with our OF situation.
  21. As another poster said, Biagini may hold some value, but he’s also as fungible as relievers can get. Aaron Sanchez is a ticking time bomb every time he throws a pitch with his blister issues. I am quite sad to see Cal Stevenson go though. I think there was something interesting there, but if Derek Fisher ends up being what they think he’s going to be, I can live with it.
  22. Only 3ER according to MLBFarm.
