  1. I know it's the O's, but I've liked what I've seen from Jacob Waguespack this season. He seems like one of those pitchers who could give you 2 or 3 years of decent backend rotation production.
  2. I'd really like to look at bringing Brett Gardener in on a 1 yr deal if the Yankees don't bring him back. His defense alone would pay for his contract.
  3. I can’t believe the A’s are gonna win 95+ games with a rotation spearheaded by Brett Anderson, Homer Bailey, and Mike Fiers.
  4. While I’m not generally a fan of tanking for high picks, what will be really nice is having an insane amount of draft pool money. The Tigers, who picked 5th last season, for instance had $10.5M. That will go an incredibly long way for a front office like ours who’s shown themselves to be more than capable when it comes to drafting well and drafting deep.
  5. Stroman's profile was probably not that appealing to Cashman. Look up and down the Yankees pitching staff. He's always valued strikeouts in pitchers above most anything else. Their pitchers collectively have a 9.5 K/9 this season. Stroman would've stuck out like a sore thumb.
  6. That's it for the Phillies. They've been eliminated from playoff contention. By Harpers old team no less.
  7. Nate Pearson is now ranked as the 10th best prospect and 3rd best pitching prospect in baseball according to MLB Pipeline.
  8. Rockies may be one of the teams in tear down mode after such a terrible season. How much would a Jon Gray cost in terms of prospect capital?
  9. How about a guy like David Freese for 1B/3B? He's changed his game since joining the Dodgers. Lowered his K%, taking more walks. Also can cover for Vladdy at 3B if needed. Alternatively, resigining Justin Smoak really wouldn't be the worst idea. Down year compared to his last 2, but still, he manages to get on base at a really nice clip.
  10. Vladdy looks awkward even when he’s making good plays. Hope he gets in better shape in the offseason. If he can play Devers level defense next season, I’ll be ecstatic.
  11. McGuire has as many home runs in 20 MLB games as he did in 72 AAA games.
  12. Generally not a fan of tanking, but I would love to see how this front office approaches the draft with a high pick + a larger bonus pool.
  13. It's actually absurd how little money with have committed for 2020. According to RosterResource, it's just shy of $30M. That's less than: - The Oakland Athletics - The Tampa Bay Rays - The Kansas City Royals - The Cleveland Indians - The Baltimore Orioles - The Arizona DBacks - The Cincinnati Reds In fact, the only teams with less committed money than us are the Twins, the Marlins, the Pirates, and the White Sox. Even with arbitration estimates for Giles and Shoemaker, I don't think we'll crack the $50M committed money mark. Assuming we have the same opening day payroll as last year, we'll likely have $60M-$70M to spend this offseason . We would have more than enough money to sign both Wheeler and Odorizzi at $15M a piece (or Cole at $30M), sign a decent 1B, and sign a couple cheap bullpen arms.
  14. His stuff is a little vanilla, but I really like his pace and his ability to pump strikes. Seems pretty polished in that aspect. I'm hoping his secondaries develop a little more. I can definitely see 4th/5th starter.
  15. Surprised he hasn't thrown many curves yet. Supposed to be his best secondary.
  16. And they have him signed to relative peanuts. He likely would've shattered the $120M extension he got if he hit free agency this offseason.
  17. Woods Richardson Manoah Kay Pardinho Martinez Moreno Kirk Kloffenstein ...all have to be on the fringes on Top 100 I imagine.
  18. His profile doesn't exactly scream bullpen either. Him and Dakota Hudson have nearly identical peripherals in the minors when it comes to GB%, SwStr%, and K% and both are sinker guys. Hudson, for all his faults, has been able to produce decent enough results despite fairly ugly underlying numbers. He's definitely going to be an enigma around these parts.
  19. The White Sox have a excellent position player core cooking. Luis Robert Yoan Moncada Eloy Jimenez Nick Madrigal Andrew Vaughn Tim Anderson Combine that with Giolito spearheading their rotation, Kopech coming back, Dane Dunning being back, and I could see them making some noise if they add some pieces this offseason. Rendon or Yasmani Grandal would fit nicely in the south side.
  20. Joey Murray so far: 7IP, 3H, 2ER, 2BB, 8K The guy is in his first full season of pro ball and carving up AA hitters. His K-rate across each level this season is nuts. Striking out 11.1 per 9.
  21. TJ Zeuch so far: 5IP, 5H, 2BB, 1ER, 0K, 68 pitches, Yeah, you read that right. 0 strikeouts in 5 innings. It's baffling to the point where it's kind of impressive.
  22. Josh Winckowski: 6.2IP, 5H, 1ER, 0BB, 3K, 79 pitches His K-rate has been affected in High-A, but he's still doing pretty well.
  23. Who would you guys rank as your Top 10 prospects when Bo graduates? 1. Nate Pearson (SP) 2. Jordan Groshans (SS) 3. Simeon Woods Richardson (SP) 4. Eric Pardinho (SP) 5. Anthony Kay (SP) 6. Alek Manoah (SP) 7. Gabriel Moreno © 8. Adam Kloffenstein (SP) 9. Orelvis Martinez (SS) 10. Alejandro Kirk © You could make a case that each of those guys are either Top 100 guys or have the ability to be this time next year. 11-20 would probably consist of Zeuch, Murphy, Kendall Williams, Kevin Smith, Yennsy Diaz, Alford, Winckowski, Murray etc in no particular order. I'm liking how the farm system stands despite that fact that Vlad, Danny Jansen, Biggio, Thornton, and soon Bo will graduate.
  24. Given that Zeuch and Kay have to be added to the 40-man in the offseason anyways, I'd love to see them up in September and see what they can do. I can't imagine they hold them down for lack of 40-man spots.
