  1. You could make that same case for the Angels, Twins, Braves, and other teams that need pitching too. Feels like most teams could've outbid the $9M guaranteed figure he got. Also a possibility he demanded $12M-$15M to come to Canada, and at that point we just said f*** it and allocated that money to Roark who's been a solid 2 WAR pitcher over an unproven commodity in Lindblom.
  2. Blake Treinen to the Dodgers, 1 year $10M
  3. I feel like Lindblom just didn't want to come to Toronto. Milwaukee is also closer to Indiana (his home state)
  4. How exactly does this signing restrict us from doing just that? Committed payroll is still peanuts. You can quite easily add a Ryu or another starter for $20M.
  5. 2 years, $24M according to Heyman
  6. Lindblom to the Brewers, 3 years $9M How could we not outbid that?
  7. Doesn't get more innings eater than that
  8. Same as Gausman, which makes sense.
  9. Literally Miguel Sano career 36% k-rate, 121 wRC+
  10. Michael Wacha to the Mets.
  11. I guess in that scenario, Teoscar moves to 1st and/or DH's more often? Not that I'm against adding Calhoun, but it'll make for an interesting OF depth chart. There's still Alford, McKinney, and Fisher to consider. McKinney and Teoscar have options. Alford and Fisher are out of options. I know people on here aren't too fond of Fisher, but I'd like to give him a leash next season.
  12. Not entirely true. Zack Wheeler, Kyle Gibson, Drew Pomeranz all exceeded their projected contract totals by MLBTR and Fangraphs. Bumgarner apparently has $100M+ on the table. The mid level market is being priced higher than in recent years.
  13. With the way this market has transpired, how much is Ryu going to get and how much would you be comfortable paying him? 4 years $80M is likely what it’ll take for us it seems. That 4th year is scary for a guy like Ryu, but you can frontload the contract to ease that last year if necessary.
  14. Odorizzi might have made a mistake accepting the QO. He could’ve gotten paid handsomely.
  15. This market is absurd, especially given the last two free agent periods. Ryu is gonna command 4 years at this point. Apparently Bumgarner has $100M on the table!
  16. That is absolutely absurd money for a pitcher.
  17. The Giants just acquired Will Wilson (Angels 2019 1st round pick) in exchange for eating Zack Cozarts salary. Angels making room for Cole looks like.
  18. That quote makes it seem like we made an offer for Strasburg?
  19. Not necessarily the most encouraging tidbits regarding FA spending from Atkins:
  20. I'm hoping it's the latter with our 5th best in the AL offense post trade deadline (106 wRC+). Yes, small sample sizes and all that, but it's encouraging. Especially when our 2nd half consisted of the much tougher schedule.
  21. Fangraphs has us projected for 20.3 offensive WAR next season, which is not that far from the Rays (21.7), the Mets (20.8), and Indians (22.4). And that's incredibly conservative given our young team. They could easily outperform that and be an above average hitting team next season like they were past Bichette's call up. But yes, go on about how we shouldn't add pitching and waste a year of Bichette, Vlad, Cavan, and Gurriel all making pennies.
  22. I think Cole is getting $300M over 8 years
