I don't know the last time we had this man legit high-upside arms in the system:
Trey Yesavage, Khal Stephen, Gage Stanifer, Kendry Rojas, Johnny King, Landen Maroudis
You can even add Tiedemenn to the list since he's rehabbing
Kendry Rojas absolutely shoved today: 5.0IP/0ER/9K, sitting 95-96mph and flashing a plus slider and changeup. My 2nd favorite arm in the system after Yesavage.

Strictly by baseball standards, the total guarantee is a tad high for a player who's had two elite years so far in his career and has shown flashes otherwise. That being said the amount of years stretches it to a pretty reasonable $35.7M AAV and shouldn't stop us from building around him financially
Fried got significantly more than he was projected to get, so this is probably the ballpark it needs to be to get done.
If it's even true, which it's probably not
Spencer Horowitz is actually way less than I thought we would give up, and we get a decent reliever in Nick Sandlin out of it. Will Wagner can now get full time AB as the Horwitz replacement.
Perfectly happy with this trade.
Take this FWIW but I got a friend who works in a front office and they told me the Yankees are making a serious push for Kyle Tucker. Says the Astros are pretty budget-constrained and they have very little confidence they can resign him, so best to move on and get value. Astros still want to compete though, so they're looking for major league ready pieces back. Package on the table is Jasson Dominguez + more. He gets the sense what else goes back depends on whether the Yankees sign another starter and if they do, Luis Gil could be part of the package. Also thinks the Yankees would like to immediately extend him if they can trade for him.
I don’t know that Baerga is really that credible anymore considering his primary source was 100% Charlie Montoyo.
That being said, IF true, what’s on the table is probably very similar to the Devers contract. That’s probably as I high as I would go for him too.
Giants resign Matt Chapman for $151 million over 6 years. Surprising not just because of the timing but also Boras not taking Chapman to free agency.
That’s one player who would’ve been a fit gone. Also sets the mark for Bregman negotiations, someone who I assume we might be interested in.
Also .817 OPS against LHP
I know last season they were shielding him against lefties, but seems like they're keen on seeing how he fares against them this year. Would be super exciting if he can pan out as an everyday guy
Leo Jimenez might be the most intriguing young player to me. He’s crushed 3 homers all of which had high end exit velo. Couple that with his contact percentage and strong defense at short and it becomes apparent why the org has coveted him for so long. Offensively reminds of a potential Yandy Diaz
Arjun Nimmala since he got recalled from the Developmental List:
34 games - .263/.331/.617, 10 HR, 165 wRC+
K-rate is still high at 30%, he's really made some incredible strides since those adjustments.
Interesting that Flaherty hasn't moved yet. Tigers are really waiting until the 11th hour in order to extract maximum value
Gotta be Dodgers or Twins is my guess
