  1. I believe he was outrighted, not DFA'd so he was never exposed to waivers
  2. D: Does Jordan Groshans have any top 100 buzz? Or is it too early in his career? Kiley McDaniel: Little early but has the tools. Some elements of Carter Kieboom, so that’s a best case scenario, but I’d say less feel to hit than Kieboom.
  3. Vlad is staying up when he get the call. Highly doubt they're gonna yo-yo a top prospect like him between AAA and the majors.
  4. How is this showing his poor command/control? If you look at where Jansen was set up, he almost always hit his spots....
  5. Even without Vlad, the depth in our system is tremendous. There's good prospects to follow at basically all levels of the farm. You can look at any prospect in our Top 30 and can make a case for them to be interesting.
  6. 18 year old catcher Gabriel Moreno between the GCL and APPY league: .394/.440/.646
  7. Brock Lundquist 2nd straight 4 hit game. He’s now slashing .383/.450/.553 in 26 games in High-A. Is he anything?
  8. People also tend to forget that the current regime drafted Zeuch, Bichette, Biggio, Pearson, Smith and signed Hiraldo and Pardinho as IFA. That's a good chunk of our Top 15 prospects, all that have been added in the past 2 seasons.
  9. Our old friend Conner Greene has a 8.3 BB/9 as a RELIEVER in Triple A.
  10. Nothing in the Milwaukee farm system interests me other than Hiura, Burnes, and Peralta. But I doubt we get any of those guys for half a season of Happ. I still like the idea of trading with the Yankees and making them pay a premium for inter division. They're the most desperate for SP help.
  11. Top 10 farm system in the league when we were bottom third literally 2 years ago. Little to no commitments in salary for the future (only $53M commited next season) Ownership that clearly has made more good trades than bad Hiring smart people like Ben Cherington and other personnel who have a proven track record of success. Always looking at the cutting edge when it comes to having a competitive advantage (ie. investing MASSIVELY in the high performance department and getting a quality control coach) The only misstep this front office has made is trying to compete in a landscape where it was a long shot, but even that’s completely understandable given that they wanted to capitalize on a hot market. Literally any other team would’ve done the same. A “rebuild” is quite literally the last resort for any sports team. And it’s not like trying to compete has set us back in any regard. We didn’t give up any draft picks or trade the farm for a reason.
  12. Doesn’t matter. He threw 10 balls in a row that one time, so his career is basically over.
  13. Groshans through 21 games in the GCL: .372/.440/.590 3HR 181 wRC+ 11.0BB% 15.4K% For comparison, Bo through 22 games in the GCL: .427/.451/.732 4HR 238 wRC+ 6.6BB% 18.7K% Groshans is torching rookie league, but also goes to show how much of a beast Bo was.
  14. Nothing necessarily wrong with that. Let's say 3 of those guys pan out and become viable 4th/5th starters. Congrats, you've now filled your 3-4-5 rotation spots with viable starters for league min. You can now afford to spend top dollar on 2 top of the rotation starters.
  15. Pannone final line: 8IP 6H 2ER 0BB 9K all in 97 pitches
  16. Steamer MLB projections (rest of the season) Russell Martin: 100 wRC+ Danny Jansen: 103 wRC+
  17. AA would draft well, but the prospects would then be thrown into the fire and be forced to sink or swim. This regime puts a lot more stress into player development and it's so refreshing. Their philosophy to player dev seems pretty simple: 1. If it isn't broken, don't fix it (i.e. Bo and Vlad. They're clearly doing well enough on their own. No need to try to intervene when they've already been successful). 2. If the player isn't living up to their potential, make ready and available all the resources for them to make the necessary adjustments to be successful. This is probably where the Cavan Biggio and Kevin Smith's breakouts came out of. Give them everything they need, but at the end of the day, its also only up to them to make these adjustments. This is probably also why they target players with a certain make up now.
  18. Whatever criticism you have of this front office, you can't deny they've done an absolutely fantastic job drafting and improving the farm in the 2 years they've been here.
  19. Sean Reid-Foley: 6.0IP 1H 1ER 2BB 5K
  20. RIP Dustin May's career.
  21. Reddick was also a rental.
  22. Kevin Smith hit another dinger. Patrick Murphy: 7IP 4H 2ER 1BB 6K. Apparently got up to 98 mph
  23. I'd love to get Logan Shore from them.
  24. Slashing .295/.347/.519 with 9 HR in 38 games in Dunedin now. K-rate is concerning, but to have a .866 OPS in the FSL is really impressive. Well known as the hardest league to hit in in the minors.
  25. Foley ended up surrendering a 2-run dinger to Dylan Cozens and a bloop base hit afterwards. Final line is 5.1IP 4BB 3H 3ER 9K
