  1. I want to see Hamilton at Coors and set a record for inside-the-park home runs
  2. It's the Wilpons. Pathetic doesn't even begin to describe them.
  3. Part of me thinks the Wilpons just want to get Cano to send a massive f*** you to the Yankees.
  4. Pearson is absolutely filthy:
  5. Yeah not last season, but within the last 2-5. Just pointing out how much good Rule 5 talent there's been.
  6. Miguel Andujar, Odubel Herrara, and Jonathan Loaisiga as well
  7. Stroman at the deadline if he's performing well is worth a lot more than Stroman is now. It's hard to see him having a season worse than he did. I'd hold on to him.
  8. Blue Jays finalized coaching staff:
  9. Not sure if this was posted already, but Harold Ramirez (one of the OF we got in the Hutchison trade) got signed by the Marlins. Coming off a year where he slashed .320/.365/.471 in AA. I would've much rather have him on the 40-man than Pompey at this point.
  10. Thornton had 5 of the 10 highest recorded curveball spin rates in the AFL: https://www.mlb.com/news/top-statcast-performers-in-arizona-fall-league/c-300999734 Maybe we found our own Collin McHugh
  11. That Grichuk trade was a highway robbery.
  12. His contract is hardly worth anything. He'll be paid less than most major league relievers throughout the course of his contract. If they really wanted to get rid of Gurriel and his contract, he could easily be moved.
  13. We turned JB Woodman into a year of a solid INF, and then turned him into a bottom of the rotation starter. I don't get what's to complain about. I'm a lot more bullish on our rotation depth for 2019. Reid-Foley, Pannone, Thornton, Zuech, Merrywether and Romano.
  14. Julio Teheran is apparently available. What would it take to get someone like him?
  15. Non-tender candidates according to MLBTR. Travis and Solarte both listed. No Pillar. Position Players Ehire Adrianza (Twins, $1.8MM) Aaron Altherr (Phillies, $1.6MM) Tim Beckham (Orioles, $4.3MM) Justin Bour (Phillies, $5.2MM) Cheslor Cuthbert (Royals, $1.1MM) Travis d’Arnaud (Mets, $3.7MM) Delino DeShields Jr. (Rangers, $1.9MM) Adam Duvall (Braves, $3.1MM) Wilmer Flores (Mets, $4.7MM) Avisail Garcia (White Sox, $8.0MM) Leury Garcia (White Sox, $1.9MM) Greg Garcia (Padres, $900K) Robbie Grossman (Twins, $4.0MM) Gorkys Hernandez (Giants, $1.6MM) Chris Herrmann (Astros, $1.5MM) Caleb Joseph (Orioles, $1.7MM) Erik Kratz (Brewers, $1.7MM) Sandy Leon (Red Sox, $2.3MM) Jake Marisnick (Astros, $2.4MM) James McCann (Tigers, $3.5MM) John Ryan Murphy (Diamondbacks, $1.1MM) Chris Owings (Diamondbacks, $3.6MM) Hernan Perez (Brewers, $2.7MM) Josh Phegley (Athletics, $1.2MM) Miguel Rojas (Marlins, $2.6MM) Addison Russell (Cubs, $4.3MM) Tyler Saladino (Brewers, $1.0MM) Jonathan Schoop (Brewers, $10.1MM) Yangervis Solarte (Blue Jays, $5.9MM) Cory Spangenberg (Padres, $2.3MM) Devon Travis (Blue Jays, $2.4MM) Tony Wolters (Rockies, $1.1MM) Pitchers Matt Andriese (Diamondbacks, $1.1MM) Chad Bettis (Rockies, $3.2M) Eddie Butler (Rangers, $900K) Brian Flynn (Royals, $1.0MM) Sam Freeman (Braves, $1.5M) Luis Garcia (Phillies, $1.7MM) Yimi Garcia (Dodgers, $900K) Jesse Hahn (Royals, $1.7MM) Tom Koehler (Dodgers, $2.0MM) Shelby Miller (Diamondbacks, $4.9MM) Bryan Mitchell (Padres, $1.2MM) Neil Ramirez (Indians, $1.3MM) Tanner Roark (Nationals, $9.8MM) Zac Rosscup (Dodgers, $800K) Chris Rusin (Rockies, $1.7MM) Chasen Shreve (Cardinals, $1.2MM) Sammy Solis (Nationals, $900K) Tyler Thornburg (Red Sox, $2.3MM) Jonny Venters (Braves, $1.5M)
  16. Impossible. Keith Law told me that we didn't have a Top 10 system.
  17. Impossible. Keith Law told me that we didn't have a Top 10 system.
  18. White Sox also met with him today and apparently his name was seen listed in the United Center (co-owned by White Sox owner Jerry Reinsdorf)
  19. Anibal Sanchez would be a good fit for a bottom of the rotation starter.
  20. They probably want to fill the coaching staff with as many good guys as possible, regardless of position. They might already have another hitting coach in mind, but I’m sure Hudgens will have input on team hitting.
  21. I feel like the Mariners could’ve gotten more for Zunino. Astros, Angels, Dodgers, Nats, Red Sox, Phillies, and Rockies are all looking for good catcher. Seems like they just took the first offer.
  22. Of course it wouldn't have a magical effect. It's simply a step forward in the right direction. You get better by adding good players, and Michael Brantley is a good player.
  23. High OBP, high contact player with 15-20 HR power in an OF filled with strikeout magnets like Grichuk and Hernandez. Has mashed at Rogers Center (1.198 OPS in 72 PA). Exactly might've been strong, but for a team that was bottom third in OBP and Contact%, it would be a nice fit.
  24. Indians unlikely to make QO to Michael Brantley according to Buster Olney. I would be all over Brantley if I was Shatkins. Exactly what we need for the outfield.
  25. Groshans excites me a lot. From all accounts, he seems to be able to handle high velocity really well and that's always the biggest question mark in HS players. Excited to see what he can do in Lansing next season.
