  1. Not before he throws 10 straight balls to start off a game.
  2. Russell Martin to the Astros a fit? McCann's option probably isn't gonna be picked up, Maldanado is a free agent, and Stassi is a backup. Not catching prospects coming up the pipeline. Plus with all the young pitching they have coming up, they're gonna need a good framer and game caller.
  3. It's a little unfair to expect 4 WAR from a player who never even had a 4 WAR season in his career before.
  4. Nate Pearson will be going to the Arizona Fall League
  5. Alex Bregman is the first 3B in MLB history to hit 50 doubles and 30HR in the same season.
  6. Harold Ramirez: 3-4 with a walk
  7. Good list of SP's. I'd personally be looking at bringing back Happ on a 2-year deal, and then try for one of Morton, Sabathia, Eovaldi, Gio to fill out the rotation.
  8. Bregman is having a beast of a season. .944 OPS and more walks than K's.
  9. Zach Jackson has a 10.9 K/9 in AA. Needs to work on his command, but he also seems interesting.
  10. Eloy Jimanez is destroying AAA: .378/.419/.628 with 11 HR in 49 games with a 12.3% k rate. Steamer is projecting him to have a 130 wRC+
  11. Brock Lundquist is still doing well. Since his move to A+ in 45 games: .329/.400/.466 with 4HR Kevin Smith 2-4 with a dinger Spanberger 3-4 with a dinger
  12. Interviewed with the Rockies not too long ago for a R&D data engineer position. When I asked them how big their analytics department was, they told me it's about 5 people in total. That's never going to cut it in this day and age. I'm pretty sure even small market teams like the DBacks and Rays employ more in their analytics department. Not only that, they also wanted to severely underpay me offering me $50,000 when the average salary for that position in Denver is $120,000. Granted, I know it's sports and I was willing to sacrifice pay just to work in baseball, but those guys wanted me to work dirt cheap. I told them $75,000 is the lowest I'd go otherwise no dice. They told me I can take a hike and they have tons of other people who are interested. I also asked about how involved ownership is with the team and the guy didn't really give me a straight answer. But just reading between the lines, it seemed like ownership is way too involved for their own good. Guy also seemed pretty overworked and tired when I talked to him. Seems like a mess in that front office.
  13. Not at the plate, but maybe behind the plate
  14. I know it's only Rk league and he's 21, but what Cal Stevenson is doing is still impressive. In 49 games: .383/.520/.531 52 walks and only 19 strikeouts Also 19 year old C Alejandro Kirk in 51 games in the APPY league: .333/.423/.522 with 8HR and a 44% caught stealing!
  15. Should we try to deal Aledmys Diaz in the offseason? 101 OPS+ and he's rebounded well when it comes to defense. If we actually had a good primary SS, Diaz would've been a very good backup the entire season. Way better than Goins/Barney
  16. Lazaro Estrada today: 6IP 3H 1ER 1BB 10K. Drops his season ERA to 1.94 Anyone got a scouting report on this kid? He's 19 in the DSL so a bit older for the level. 5'10 and 180 lbs. He's dealing this season so far though.
  17. Wander Franco is currently doing better than what Vlad was doing at the same age in Appy league: Vlad: .271/.359/.449 8HR through 62 games Franco: .366/.427/.601 8HR through 46 games
  18. Samad Taylor already had 40 stolen bases on the season
  19. I wouldn't entirely rule out Riley Adams. Offensive standards are so low for a catcher that he may provide future value as a decent backup. 103 wRC+ in the FSL and a 48% CS%. Seems to me like a right handed McGuire.
  20. He's gonna throw a perfect game
  21. Huge fan of the front office shoring up the farm with depth guys like Espinal, Spanberger, McKinney, Drury, Wall, McGuire, Ramirez. None of them are gonna be superstars, but at the very least they seem like they'll contribute to the major league team in some regard.
  22. There’s no way they call him up until April 20th of next year. That extra year is too valuable.
  23. Lazara Estrada today: 6IP 3H 0BB 7K Through 12 games started in the DSL: 1.98 ERA 0.88 WHIP 10.53 K/9
  24. Pannone called up. Hopefully Reid-Foley gets the call up soon as well to see what we've got in these guys.
