  1. Machado is crushing the baseball right now. Slashing .342/.426/.658, leading the AL in hits, tied for HR, striking out less and walking more. Orioles are dumb. $161M spent on Chris Davis, $37M spent on Mark Trumbo, and $57M on Alex Cobb all sunk costs. All that money could've gone towards a Machado extension. Instead they're gonna let their franchise player just walk away or trade him for way less than what he's worth.
  2. Kevin Smith needs to get promoted to High-A.
  3. I'm comfortable enough in this front office' drafting policy and track record with it that I'll be 100% fine with whoever they draft. They seem to like get a balance of high floor low variance prospects like TJ Zeuch, Logan Warmoth etc and high boom/bust types like Bichette and Pearson. I'll go along with whoever they end up signing.
  4. I'd be thrilled with either Kelanic or Scott. In terms of prep arms, Liberatore is really the only one that interests me at #12, but he's probably not going to get to us. Unfortunate we don't have a compensatory pick in the back end of the 1st round either. Would've liked to pick up Hankins since his stock has dropped so low.
  5. Soto is quickly approaching untouchable status, if not already there. Highly doubt he gets traded for anything at this point.
  6. Bo isn't raking like Vlad or Cavan, but I still think he needs to get credit. He's slashing .302/.393/.453 with 9 stolen bases. Good for a .846 OPS, and apparently his defense has been good enough at short that he could stick there. No homer yet, but tons of doubles and triples. I'm sure the game power will come soon enough. Most impressive thing is he's still keeping that k% under 20% and walking at a good clip too. Very impressive, yet getting a little overshadowed by Cavan and Vladdy.
  7. So does Cavan Biggio: 2-4 with a HR Now slashing .310/.434/.690 in AA. Needs to move up.
  8. Phillies still lead 4-1. That Nats offense is putrid.
  9. Service time wise, yes. In terms of a developmental perspective, I don’t think so. I’m fairly certain if he were to be called up right now, he could put up atleast an .800 OPS.
  10. Vladdy murdered his 3rd home run: https://streamable.com/2kz1j
  11. Can't wait for more casuals to say they still miss Ryan Goins.
  12. Paxton is filthy
  13. Biggio and Clemens boys are still killing it. Biggio: 2/3 with a walk and a HR Clemens: 1/4 with a HR.
  14. Connor Scott is really the only prep bat I'd be interested in taking with our 1st pick. I hope he falls to us. If he's not, hopefully one of the college guys like Swaggerty or Jonathan India are available.
  15. Vlad Jr murdering a couple baseballs:
  16. I'd be much more comfortable with giving him the Mike Trout contract a season or two after he's already performed and established himself as a star.
  17. DBacks have started the season a franchise best 21-8. And that's with Jake Lamb, Robbie Ray, Steven Souza Jr., Tijuan Walker and Shelby Miller all injured.
  18. He's already shown a better eye and better contact than all of those guys.
  19. Players of the Day: Vlad Jr, Cavan Biggio, Tim Lopes, Kacy Clemens Honourable mentions: Rowdy Tellez, Josh Palacios. Sorry John_Havok, I couldn't wait until tomorrow to start the Vlad circle jerk. He's now slashing .388/.455/.600 with 12BB and 10SO as a 19 year old in AA.
  20. Vladdy already has 2 walks tonight and drove in another RBI.
  21. https://www.mlb.com/news/projections-for-all-30-first-round-draft-picks/c-274577288?tid=151437456 They have us picking Ryan Rolison. Conner Scott at 27 seems low, and Seth Beer in the first round seems way too high.
  22. Totally forgot about Solarte. Maybe rotate Solarte and Travis between DH and 2B every now and then.
  23. Our lineup is actually really good if Donaldson comes back and Travis starts hitting again. Donaldson, Gurriel, Travis, Smoak INF with Grandy/Pearce platoon, Hernandez, and Pillar in the OF is real nice.
  24. Another month of Vladdy doing what he is and Morales being as bad as he is and I think he'll be called up sooner than we think. The whole 'Vladdy will debut in 2019' was media and fan speculation to begin with. I believe Shapiro himself said in an interview recently that Vlad Jr. will decide when he gets called up. If he keeps raking like this in AA and Morales is as bad as he is, I don't see why he won't be called up.
