  1. How much is Michael Brantley projected to get? I would love to get him. With our outfield being a strikeout parade between Grichuk and Teoscar, a high-contact/OBP lefty would be a great fit.

  3. This is really cool:
  4. Vladdy at the AFL:
  5. Eovaldi is dealing, so lets bring in Kimbrel who's given up a run every appearance in the postseason so far. Makes sense Cora.
  6. Pearson's start in the Fall League today: 1.0IP 5H 7ER 4BB 3K 52 pitched 30 strikes
  7. That's because pitching prospects are more volatile than position player prospects: https://www.royalsreview.com/2011/2/14/1992424/success-and-failure-rates-of-top-mlb-prospects Look at the Red Sox and Astros rotations. Their best starters aren't homegrown. They were signed as free agents or traded for. You build a young position player core that's cheap, and then pay for premium proven pitchers afterwards.
  8. We have to be Top 5 imo. Padres, Rays, White Sox, and Braves would be the only ones I would really put in front.
  9. Personally: 1. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. 2. Bo Bichette 3. Nate Pearson 4. Danny Jansen 5. Eric Pardinho 6. Kevin Smith 7. Sean Reid-Foley 8. TJ Zeuch 9. Anthony Alford 10. Jordan Groshans 11. Cavan Biggio 12. Miguel Hiraldo 13. Orelvis Martinez 14. Billy McKinney 15. David Paulinho 16. Hector Perez 17. Adam Kloffenstein 18. Reese McGuire 19. Rowdy Tellez 20. Julian Merryweather 21. Jordan Romano 22. Thomas Pannone 23. Samad Taylor 24. Leonardo Jimenez 25. Santiago Espinal 26. Travis Bergen 27. Yennsy Diaz 28. Forrest Wall 29. Patrick Murphy 30. Ryan Noda 1-10 is mostly set. The bottom third is really hard to rank. You could replace some of those players with Maximo Castillo, Joey Murray, Logan Warmoth, Riley Adams, Harold Ramirez, Gabriel Moreno, Brock Lundquist, Alejandro Kirk, Otto Lopez, Cal Stevenson etc. It's a good problem to have when you have too many prospects that could rank in the Top 30. Edit: Also Chavez Young as well. Our system is loaded.
  10. Zeuch and Hiraldo seem a little low. Otherwise, one of the better Jays prospect lists I’ve seen.
  11. Add TJ Zeuch, Julian Merryweather, and Jordan Romano to that AAA depth as well.
  12. It seems most people on here are advocating for trading for Martin for 40 man roster space. If you do want to eat a substantial amount of money to clear a 40-man spot, why not eat $8M of Morales' salary? I'm sure some team will take him for ~$4M
  13. Joe Espada would be my first pick, but I'd be happy with Rocco Baldelli as well.
  14. I'm glad we're getting ahead of other teams. Getting our pick of the litter.
  15. Final line: 3.1 IP, 2 H, 3 BB, 0 ER, 4 K 62 pitches (including at least 5 that hit 100mph) Vlad also 3/4. Hitting .692 in the fall league so far
  16. It helps that we're gonna be running a $170M payroll when we do get competitive. Oakland doesn't have that luxury.
  17. Gleyber Torres was out 9 months for his non throwing arm. Might be looking at 10 months for Didi because it's his throwing arm. Not that the Yankees are in any shortage of funds, but if I'm them, I'd throw money at Machado and use the $12M towards a Harper or Kershaw who'll provide more value than Gregorious would in half a season.
  18. Does Didi get nontendered? It's his throwing arm. He might be out the whole season.
  19. 1 superstar and then above average regulars all around the diamond is all you really need. It won't make you a superteam like the Astros, but it'll get you to the playoffs, and that's all you really need. In terms of Vlads ceiling, I think we're looking at a Manny Ramirez type career. .300 BA, .400 OBP and 25-40 HR. 4-5 WAR regular with an 7-8 WAR peak.
  20. Plenty enough for a 1-2 year Happ deal and a couple upside plays for the bullpen. I think we're basically set on the position player side.
  21. With MLBTR's arb estimates, RosterResource estimates our payroll to be $98,708,571 for next season assuming all contracts are tendered. Add Smoaks $8M option and that rises to $106,708,571. That's without Solarte's contract. Anyone know what est. payroll is going to be next season?
  22. In hindsight, Edwin turning down $80M and Donaldson turning down the extension is looking real good right now.
  23. Brewers lineup is really good. Good depth on the bench too with Thames and Santana. Orlando Arcia is a black hole, but at least his defense is good.
  24. I would add Copping over Waguespack and Harold Ramirez over Jon Harris. But it'll be interesting to see what they do with 40-man.
  25. Full list of Rule 5 eligible players: Hector Perez Patrick Murphy Yennsy Diaz Jon Harris Jordan Romano Jacob Waguespack Corey Copping Forrest Wall Harold Ramirez Kevin Vicuna Max Pentecost.
