  1. He saved at least a run with a great catch in an elimination game.
  2. Depending on how many innings Yesavage throws he could still be available for spot duty in game 5 as well.
  3. We can only hope that tonight's game is one of those improbable games where the team pulls off an unexpected victory. If the middle relief can avoid handing the Yankees a bushel full of runs for the first time in the series I like their chances.
  4. What are you even basing this assertion on? George produced the literal worst defensive metrics in the outfield in the first half of the season and then barely played the outfield afterwards. That should speak volumes to you about what the team thinks of his outfield defense at this point of his career.
  5. The issue with Lauer is that he isn't stretched out sufficiently to provide a typical start to the team. He's only pitched up to 40-50 pitches at most over the last month so all that could be expected of him would be 2-3 innings unless he manages to be super efficient recording outs.
  6. There isn't any choice at this point as the team only has 3 starters on the roster presently.
  7. They are both bad defenders at this point of their careers and Springer has actually been getting far worse jumps than Santander. It seems possible that George is battling through some sort of injury situation that's keeping him out of the field.
  8. The continuous outrage is bad enough. In the case of the IKF start the entire board was universally panning the decision, with a few posters trying to ascertain why IKF was inserted into the lineup. When IKF made an unexpected error in the first inning you blew up at the rest of the board trying to pick a fight and act like there was a singular poster on the board that wanted IKF in the lineup as this made you a certifiable genius for flying off the deep end. When you got your wish later in the game and Barger came in when he made an error that gave the Yankees the momentum in the series he got a total pass and the blame was placed on the left fielder instead. The outrage is bad enough to make matters you are a giant hypocrite and play favorites and apply this outrage selectively.
  9. I think every other player on the team that regularly plays third base would have caught that popup easily, whether it was Clement or IKF. If Barger doesn't come into the game that out is made 99.99% of the time, so if you are going to torch the manager/front office for every misplay that happens on the field this is the most concrete instance available where you should be choosing this path.
  10. IKF booting a routine grounder was a really low probability occurrence so I don't really assign a lot of blame to anyone other than IKF alone for him botching that play. A manager should reliably expect that a quality infield defender would make the routine plays that come his way. You were also complaining that Barger should be starting no matter what, and lo and behold as soon as he came into the game he also made a bad error that was far more impactful given where the Yankees were in the lineup. I don't see you backing off on your continual assertion that Barger should start no matter what when he made a far more important error that was the largest turning point in the game.
  11. I still mostly blame Barger for that misplay. A major league infielder should have the ability to make an adjustment on a popup when a gust of wind hits the field. Schneider could have saved him from the error if he took charge on the play but Barger still had the ball clank off of his glove on an eminently catchable ball.
  12. My only hope here is that the Jays have made a lot of hay in bullpen games this season. That doesn't take away any of the trepidation from needing 27 outs from the pen with the way the last few games have unfolded however.
  13. Yeah in retrospect bringing in the defensive replacements early may have prevented this game from turning into the outright disaster it became. It felt a lot like the 2022 collapse as the better defenders were left on the bench allowing misplays to let the Mariners slowly get back into the game.
  14. The Jays picked a really bad time for an uncharacteristic bad game in the field. I don't know if the pressure was getting to them or what but you just can't get away with handing extra outs to the Yankees at Yankee Stadium. I felt that the Barger miscue was the dagger in this game that allowed Judge and the Yankees to really get back into the game and seize the momentum in the series. The Jays are still in a good spot up 2-1 but it's hard to feel very confident for game 4 with an upcoming bullpen game with the way that the Yankees have been piling up runs against the pen in the last few games.
  15. Why sit Ernie? He's hot as a firecracker and the team needs his glove after the defensive debacle in game 3.
  16. If I tried that with my aging body I'd probably pop a rib out of place. 🫥
  17. Yeah it could have been far worse. Thankfully Bieber got the final extra out.
  18. Learn to read. Term simply provided a theory to what he thought IKF was in the lineup. I never once said I approved of him starting so get over yourself already.
  19. Chill the f*** out man. There's no need to pick fights because you have no emotional regulation. Nobody here wants IKF in the lineup so give it a rest.
