Not worth nitpicking over the price on a one year deal as it's still a much smaller commitment than it would take to land a more bonafide version of a starter with Ray's upside. -

Khudobin and Talbot are available, and both look to pencilled in as 1A guys. Not sure if they are better options than the goalies available because I seem to be on an old version of the spreadsheet.

I have brought this up in the past but especially now with the move to FT and having added the right owners over the past couple years - I think it would be awesome to pair this with a new baseball dynasty and make it a dual sport dynasty league. I may just be looking for an excuse to draft a baseball dynasty team having only ever joined existing leagues (and because it would just be fun right now) but I think it would be fun to try and try to synchronize two teams. Or maybe needlessly complicated, I don't know.

You're typically not going to get a player who improves your blueline in return for a late round pick. It's a 5th round pick for an NHL Dman, I just don't see why it's getting much attention. Plus we both know that hockey GMs care way more about intangible factors than their counterparts in these other sports. The Sens aren't really built to compete yet and are set to have a pretty young blueline group. They brought Gudbranson in to be a veteran presence on the ice and in the community, plus add some physicality to insulate those young puck movers. He saves uncle Eugene 1M assuming they only spend to the floor, I don't doubt at all that added to the appeal.

Don't really get the hate for the Gudbranson move. By most accounts he was awful in Vancouver but this past season I thought he was just fine as a physical 4/5 type. Local guy for the Sens, can play 18-20 mins per and provide some grit to compliment their young puck movers. A 5th round pick is pretty much nothing to a team with a bounty of young depth, and if they only spend to the cap floor, he makes 1M less than his cap hit (savings for Melnyk).
