I don't condone actively tanking (young players need to grow in a competitive environment) but there is a cycle to pro sports. Teams like Detroit and Anaheim were strong for many years, were able to supplement their core with strong drafting despite later picks. But eventually it catches up with you and your top end talent ages out. It's very difficult to truly replenish your top end talent in the NHL without early picks. Most of the better teams were bad for a period of time and gained some of their best players in the process. Toronto is only competing right now because they finally decided that they needed a young core to build around. Slowed things down for a couple years and stockpiled assets, hit the mark on their early picks (Matthews, Marner, Rielly etc). If you take issue with building a team in that manner I guess we'll have to agree to disagree.
  2. We have 94 and 114 now. I'll send JG the 2021 pick on Fantrax

It is a joke that he can end up with one of those teams and not say Detroit, who is crying out for high end talent.
  4. I did what I had to do and I will say no more.
  5. Taking these two picks in exchange for next year's 4th
  6. Trying to use 6th round picks to move up into the top 60 and using a paragraph to explain their value is funny and cringey to me. There shouldn't be wrong with pointing that out. Trying to make that out like I'm being some fantasy baseball warrior is just a ridiculous over reaction- we all know 6th round picks are barely worth s***. That was all I was saying, and again I was speaking about a group and not just myself, plenty of people here who have been punting late round picks long before I was here. You seem to have some idea that I'm trying to drive him out of here? If you read the conversation I clearly said I wouldn't want to lose an active GM. It's an online forum, and I'm just responding to the posts the guy makes here. Not sure which trade you're referring to here, if it's this league than I would have done nothing more than sign off on it, JFL has handled all the trade talks of late.
  7. Sorry you feel that way, I will accept your criticism and move on.
  8. Too long to bother with, so it's insufferable again just on that alone. You'll get there. Also told you it wasnt the one incident but ongoing. You were one of the only Karen's in the thread about board changes who actually thought they needed to make a whiney rant. And I probably shouldn't even say this, but I can't ever imagine sending the guy an email crying about a post being deleted (don't deny it). At the end of the day, I'm mostly just playfully calling you out on little hypocrisies and stupid s*** you do. You take it so badly to heart and lash out with these unreadable essays because you know I'm right. All this because I said it was ridiculous to try and sell us on the value of 6th round picks. Dont go on the internet if you can't handle some lighting ribbing.
  9. I don't know what to tell you. When I saw that I thought "wow this guy I've barely taken note of before sure is an uppity ****", and ever since then about once a week you say something that confirms it. But again it's nothing personal, if you look at every exchange I'm only ever responding to a particular insufferable post. The fewer there are, the less exchanges we seem to have, might be a formula in there somewhere.
  10. You know where it all started by the way. For someone who claims to love this place I don't think anyone has shown more disrespect to the person who makes it run, and we both know that's ongoing. In the end all I ever do is respond to the contents of your posts. You could just respond without getting so upset. Should really try to stick to the rules regarding personal attacks, we only have so many active GMs and don't need them flying off the handle and getting banned.
  11. Is this a copypasta? Havent seen it before
  12. If you don't get a better offer we'll give you a 5th next year for those three 6th rounders.
  13. It's just another example of the conceit I keep talking about, you genuinely thought you could sell this group of people on the value of 6th round picks. We've all been through dozens of these drafts, long before you got here, and those picks often aren't even used. Making a bad offer is whatever, but putting yourself on a pedestal to offer us perspective on why your s*** offer is good- that's going to get you laughed at, sorry.
  14. A 4th, 5th and 6th is probably fair for one of those third rounders, so you're basically offering two 6ths for the other 3rd. No cringey sales pitch on the value of 6th round picks makes that any less terrible.
  15. Wouldn't mind scooping up an extra pick in this current range in exchange for one next year.
  16. We'll take SS Maximo Acosta - TEX
  17. Speedy's pick is on the sheet so I think we are good to go. LHP Shane McClanahan - TB
  18. Don't believe everything you hear, Florida is in perfect shape.
  19. Terrible time for his career to unravel, he was just getting to the real money, over half of his career earnings came from the start of last season to now.
  20. That is a worrisome transformation to say the least, hard to believe.
  21. For 2020 that's about as optimistic as we should get
  22. Good to see the Shoe back today!
