  1. That’s got to hurt: http://i.imgur.com/OSurd9e.jpg
  2. The Angels broadcast team just showed a stat - hitters average .049 against Ohtani’s secondary pitches which is the best in the majors.
  3. Nice! A bit of luck against the Rays for once.
  4. 70 hit Pillar gets another double, haha.
  5. Got away with it there, let’s make them regret it.
  6. Yeah it is getting ridiculous, haha!
  7. So Urena will be back for another go I guess.
  8. Estrada was in a bit of trouble, and the Rays just bailed him out.
  9. Only 34 pitches for Archer through 3.
  10. Robertson, Smith and Wendle have all had hot starts to make the Rays lineup much better than anticipated, hopefully today is the day they start to fall back to earth! Worried about Archer though - he's due a turnaround in results and could get 10+ strikeouts today.
  11. Yeah, and they have to consider everything. Bottom line is if service time didn't exist as a thing, I still don't think he'd be on the big league team right now. But equally, if it wasn't a factor, we'd have more chance seeing him at some point this year.
  12. I don't believe that. I believe they aren't sold on him as a 3B and want to give him a chance to get better in the minors. I mean if it is purely service time, Ross Atkins was lying in the interview Hurl posted.
  13. How much are they going to overpay Baltimore to rent Machado as a short term replacement for Seager?
  14. Well the reason would be for development, not service time. I.e. he gets the rest of the minor league season, then when that's over gets September as a trial to see if he can play 3B and hit in the majors. Then if he does succeed, you're more confident about potentially losing Donaldson and handing 3B to Vlad for 2019.
  15. Could do with a win today to keep up the early race for the 2nd wildcard!
  16. Vlad is too important to call him up simply to improve the chances of getting a wildcard this season. The front office obviously has much better data and scouting on him than we do - if they feel he needs more time in the minors to give him the best chance of being successful and importantly to play 3B when he does come up, then that's how he should be treated. A promotion to AAA, a September call up, then in the majors next season. Still an aggressive approach, but a realistic one.
