  1. I would hope the plan is to move him. Jays have 5 startersbetter than him currently and it could be 6 if Ricky T is healthy.
  2. He got obliterated in the Japanese league but dominated the KBO. Will be interesting to see how the transition back to the MLB goes.
  3. Tons of money coming off the books next year. 2027 Season potentially in flux. Time to get a little crazy.
  4. I don't think anyone is shaking in their boots with Ryan Helsley coming out in the 9th. Probably the same for Jeff Hoffman but I digress.
  5. Yup I agree a lot of the people who cover this team have been the same people for a long time that are stuck in the old style of thinking. And I don't know if they do that to temper expectations of the fan base or they actually don't understand the scope of the market they work for. Rogers a massive billion dollar company that could easily eat the tax fees without much impact. The front office is probably more pushed back by the lost of draft picks or things that could impact the on field product opposed to the potential tax bills. Rogers clearly see's the Blue Jays from the perspective of an investment and they know putting more money in means more money coming out. They own everything when it comes to the team and had a massive payout on that 2025 team. I bet they are all saying imagine we could fill that stadium every night from Game 1 in 2026. Really jump ticket sales, merchandise sales, and people forget this will be the teams 50's Anniversary so they are going to want to pump out and sell a lot of stuff related to that. Specials jerseys, hats, ect. It's a big year and they want to make sure the on field product delivers because the excitement is something you want to take full advantage of.
  6. Call me crazy but I feel the Jays are going to try to sign Imai and worry about what to do with Berrios later. You got Gausman and Bieber coming off the books next year. Imai is a talent that might be too hard to pass up on especially with no compensation attached to him. You go into next season with a rotation of Cease Gausman Imai Yesavage Bieber Move Berrios potentially or who knows if hes even healthy. A lot of people question if Bieber is healthy and maybe that's why he opted in despite getting way more on the open market. We don't get to know any of this stuff until after it happens. I just won't be shocked by it. They just saw the true value of Starting Pitching in the World Series. And how the Dodgers used every starter they had to win Game 7.,
  7. I feel Cease has been on the Jays radar for years. There was rumours they were trying to trade for him at the deadline before the Padres decided not to sell.
  8. It should come as no surprise that the team that values putting the ball in play and grinding out at-bats has identified how valuable swing and miss is. All of a sudden with Yesavage and Cease in the mix you got an insane amount of swing and miss in your rotation. No contact is better than any form of contact.
  9. With someone like Imai on the market it has to be tempting for them to want to build a super rotation. It will be interesting to see what happens. They definitely need to add a big bat but pitching wins.
  10. I’m just saying don’t be shocked if they sign another one. No guarantee they want Berrios back in the rotation after how last year ended. The option to eat money and move him is on the table.
  11. The contract is confirmed to have differals. Don’t think this eliminates another Starter addition yet.
  12. Swing and Miss is King.
  13. Well I wanted Cease or Imai so I’m incredibly happy.
  14. Holy s***
  15. He said “I messaged your mom last night”. His mom died in 2017, The fan had no idea and was extremely apologetic but still got banned for life by both the White Sox and eventually MLB. Marte really pushed for it and wouldn’t respond to the fans apologies.
  16. Going to be honest I like him as a hitter but I don’t think he’s worth the acquiring cost which will be sky high. Would prefer if they just upgraded offensively through the free agent pool. He’s also not known as a great teammate hence why he’s being shopped to begin with he doesn’t vibe with the clubhouse which is a special thing in Toronto. There was also the incident where he cried for getting heckled by a fan. Wanted the fan banned for life and the fan had no idea his mom died 5+ years prior. Seems like a bit of a werido to me.
  17. They sent Boston $20 million.
  18. Clarke is a nice prospect. Probably their 4th or 5th ranked. Just got healthy again had big strikeout numbers in 14 starts.
  19. That’s a nice rotation piece from them. I hope they gave up a lot. Cardinals likely would be eating some money to increase the return.
  20. I will never apologize after having to watch Mitch White pitch, I don’t feel we won anything. My eyes still bleed.
  21. Kinda weird they claimed him if they didn’t plan to tender him a contract. Medicals must be bad.
  22. I don’t know if I am ready to accept Berrios is completely useless yet. Like not even good enough to be the 5th Starter.
  23. You know Atkins wakes up every morning and regrets giving him that contract. A bat first player with no real defensive profile outside of having a decent arm in RF. Who isn’t even actually a good hitter. He just had some big Homerun Seasons and the Jays needed Homeruns so here we are.
  24. If we could get unlinked that would be ideal.
  25. Makes sense to kick the tires but at that price point you pass. This organization aims higher.
