  1. I was. I would have loved to have Schwarber on this team. Although I would prefer Tucker now because I didn’t think he would be an option. Either way I don’t like the comparison Schwarber is a much much better hitter than Santander. And it’s because he does 2 things at an elite level. Hit Homeruns and get on base. And he does it consistently every year. Santander has had a couple elite homerun hitting Seasons but he does nothing else well. So yes pushing Springer into the OF for him more would have been fine. But Tucker would be ideal.
  2. That’s not very nice!
  3. He's warming up right now btw.
  4. Ever heard of addition by subtraction? I genuinely feel the Blue Jays are a better Baseball team if Santander is not playing the OF. Your point about Lukes and Davis not being able to duplicate their successes from this past Season are valid. But both are projected to out perform Santander this coming Season. And that's without a platoon or ideal matchups. It's something to consider if given the opportunity. Santander is projected for like 1 WAR by Steamer right now. That's really a bat we want to squeeze in the lineup to make our OF defense worse? Was one of the strengths of the team last year.
  5. Lets see if they are. I don't think many people had them spending $300+ million this off-season. I would be personally shocked if they gave another monster deal.
  6. Bro you're going to be stoked if they sign Kyle Tucker don't lie.
  7. One thing I don't understand about the Orioles is why didn't use that $155 million on a front end starter like Framber Valdez. The one thing they had was bats. Some of them coming off a down Season but they also had some injuries. I think they have very dangerous core of bats that looks absurd now. I just don't know how they continue to not add what they really need. And maybe they have another $150 million to give someone. I'm not sure yet. They would be taking a massive leap in salary which is something they have never done. And they are going to have to start re-signing some of those young core pieces in the coming years. Happy for Pete Alonzo finally getting his bag though. Dude just produces consistently. Mets f***ed around and found out. And yea and its a lot of money but damn that's a consistent bat in your Lineup.
  8. I'm on board with trading any of those guys. I don't know if you need a valuable return for him. I think you just need him gone. I would rather have another bat plug in where he would prodimentaly play and run with better defenders in LF. Sometimes you sign guys and it doesn't work out. Were in a championship window we can't afford to wait another year hoping he's going to be the guy he was in Baltimore because he doesn't do anything else well. If he's not hitting Homeruns he's a negative asset.
  9. You would really rather have Bo over Tucker? What about the potential of both? I just don't see an obvious fit for Santander on the roster anymore. Regardless of where you put him you're making somewhere else worse. Lets say they decide they want to DH him. That pushes Springer back into the OF. Lets say they want him to play RF or LF everyday you're making your OF defense substantially worse. Obviously he's probably going to play RF Everyday if they don't sign Tucker. But lets hope they sign Tucker because that's a franchise changing talent.
  10. My question to you is what do you think generates more WAR. A full season of Santander in LF or a full season platoon of Lukes and Davis?
  11. Sign Tucker. Let Springer DH You got Varsho in CF And you got Lukes and Davis platooning in LF Even Barger can play some RF still. Mostly you get Anthony Santander off our Baseball team. Thats why.
  12. Anthony Santander would look really good in a Mets uniform.
  13. Why? He’s only 32 and has elite power hitter and on base threat. He’s in better shape now than he has been at any point in his career. He’s not even fat anymore.
  14. I thought Diaz was dead set on 5 years. The fact that he took 3 years. I’m disappointed the Jays weren’t willing to go to $72-75 million over 3. He probably wanted to be a Dodger ultimately.
  15. If you think Robert Suarez is even on the same planet as Edwin Diaz you’re brain dead.
  16. If Saurez wants 20 million a year. You laugh at him until he hangs up the phone. Call him back and laugh some more.
  17. Think he’s going to Boston if leaving the Jays.
  18. With the way he pitched last Season. He should be thrilled he had any affiliation with playoff Baseball.
  19. Lets not forget they want to trade Marte because he’s a terrible teammate. Plus the acquiring cost. I don’t care how good he is. Better business elsewhere.
  20. Blue Jays front office have made it clear they will no longer accept mediocrity. It's why they booted Berrios out of the rotation and replaced him before even moving him. They lost all confidence in Y-Rod who was great in the first half but was terrible down the strech and in the playoffs so now he will be working his way back from Buffalo regardless of what he makes. I love this new approach. Instead of letting bad contracts rot on your roster you flex your financial muscles and kick them to the curb until they get their s*** together. Absolute power move.
  21. I would say the chances Bastardo is ever on the Blue Jays 26-man roster is less than 1%. He would really have to look dominant in Spring. And coming off his injury I doubt that will happen.
  22. I mean I know lol. He doesn’t have enough service time to refuse outright assignment and elect free agency. It doesn’t get simpler than that. Anyone could have had him but nobody claimed him. Doesn’t matter what contract he signed he isn’t above the service time requirement. You just don’t see teams do this often.
  23. It is wrong. He needs 3 years of service to refuse an outright assignment. He only has 2.
  24. Pretty sure Yariel doesn’t have enough service time to elect free agency. If he gets outrighted pretty sure the Jays can put him in the minors. Good chance we don’t see him again but he could be re-added. They just lot all confidence in him.
  25. Blue Jays just keep signing Cuban's.
