Also Stephen Vogt has now been a manager for 2 years and has won AL Manager of the Year both years.
Maybe someone has won the award back to back before. But how many times has a manager won less games and won 2 years in a row lol.
I'm more annoyed with the gold gloves. I don't know Ernie is nominated for 2 and doesn't get either. How does that even make sense. Kirk also deserved to not only win the Catcher Gold Glove but you could make the case for the Platinum.
He’s a lot more intense and firey than most Japanese pitchers. He even mocked Trevor Bauer’s sword celebration in the game he faced him earlier this Season. I watched that game live. He struck out 17 batters in that game,
Massive advantage for the Blue Jays because they just have to outbid which they often do. Boras speaks highly of the Toronto market to his clients. And since he’s being posted he only gets 45 days max. He can’t use his normal tactics to hold out. He’s gotta get his best deal by that date and that’s it. Amai may have his own preferences but he hasn’t been as vocal as the other Japanese free agents about them.
Is he still eligible for the comp pick despite still being classified as a rookie? It says the rookie has to begin the Season on the roster and spend the entire year there. But we haven't seen this scenario with this in place yet.
I wasn’t playing the same game. I was winning a World Series with Rogers money.

Schwarber is not going to happen. But those other ones could very well happen. Schwarber is just a pipe dream of mine always wanting him on this team. It’s not the most practical fit in terms of flexibility but you’re not going to see someone who hits Homeruns and gets on base at the level he does. He’s also an 80 grade teammate. He’s also in better shape now then he has ever been his career. Terrible defender but in the right set up could get a handful of games in LF and 1B.
Once again absolutely dread the Santander contract that will prevent this reality. But people seem to forget that contract has a lot of deferred money. So he doesn’t have to be kept around as an anchor if and when he sucks again next Season.
As long as he doesn't get 10 at-bats in the World Series again most of us would be fine with it. But he can still be dumped in the Minors for a little savings.
-Re-sign Bichette
-Sign Edwin Diaz to be the Closer
-Sign either Cease or Amai to round out the rotation
-Sign Kyle Schwarber to DH and hit Second in the Lineup
-Send Santander with money to another ball club
Really happy for George Springer. Insane career turnaround. I honestly thought I was going to hear that they DFA'd him in Spring when he looked terrible the previous 2 Seasons and was like 0-40 in Spring or something stupid. Clearly they never lost faith and he was good from the get go and cranked it up in the Second Half.
His power is intriguing but his numbers falling off a cliff when he faces fastballs over 93 MPH is concerning. I mean the average MLB Fastball was over 94 this Season.
Huge whiff rate vs velocity and breaking balls. Crushes everything else. Perhaps Popkins can help fix his swing but I don’t know if you want to shell out the money he is going to command for a project. He’s also unlikely to play 3B at the next level.
It’s bait Season. Wife’s aren’t that dumb anymore to leak anything. But Bellinger and his family has visited in the past before he signed with the Cubs.
