I mean I would take Valdez as a pure rotation upgrade and keeping him from a team like the Orioles. But realistically unless Bieber is not healthy the team already needs to move a Starter. So it doesn't seem like a natural fit. But considering the team offered Kyle Tucker $35 million they clearly have some juice and if you can't add the bat you want spend it on another pitcher and figure it out later. Especially if Valdez is willing to go short term.

Bellinger fits in nicely with the doesn’t like to strike out and defensive versatility. He can rotate through 1B and the entire Outfield. I don’t think I want to see him signed for more than 3 years. But apparently he wants long term and values that more. So if he is going to be a Blue Jay I think at the minimum they gotta meet the Yankees at 5-years.

I think things are way to noisy on the Blue Jays front and dead silent on the Dodger front. Which makes me think he will be a Dodger come Friday.

I don't know why anyone would want to sign with the Mets that organization is a complete dumpster fire. But if someone offers you 50 million a year it would be hard to say no. If that offer is real and he hasn't taken it it would make me think he won't. Like how short is short term. 3 year 150 million. Shorter? Like especially with opt outs or not. Craziness.

It pretty painful in the playoffs watching both him and IKF get so many at-bats in the playoffs. Outside of losing Game 7 it was really the only time I had bad time in the playoffs. It was so much fun for that entire run.

Sure age plays a factor but considering those other 2 guys are premium defenders or atleast were when they signed. And that Bo despite being younger is already regressing in many areas of his game. I don't understand where he even comes up with the demand of $300 million. I don't really see the market demand for him to get close to that. -
I thought it was a strech he would reach 200 million. Going to 300 million seems insane and unheard of. But it only takes one team I guess. I really don't think he should be making more than Willy Adames. Especially if he's not a Shortstop. Like his absoulte top end should be close to what Marcus Semien signed. I don't see anything he's done exceptionally to blow those guys contracts out of the water.

I don't see any hurry to rush an extension on Varsho. Unless he completely transforms as an offensive player this Season you aren't likely to get any savings on him right now. I am sure they have already explored extending him. But he hasn't proven to be healthy over a full Season since 2023 and outside of his top tier Defense hasn't shown any consistency in his offensive profile.

Aka they weren't getting anywhere near what they wanted in the market. Realized they had a franchise caliber player signed cheaply and should really be building around him not expect some other team to fix all their woes in one move. Embarrassing.

Depth is very nice to have. You can't just look at the roster and say where is everyone going to play. These things always have a way of figuring themselves out. Whether it's injuries, under performance, someone coming out of nowhere to steal playing time. There's always crazy things that happen you actually end up wanting to add after thinking you had enough. You're signing Tucker or Bo to upgrade the overall talent of the roster and making the pieces fit later. There's creative ways they can keep everyone involved. You might see more built in rest days, even more platoons, Ernie can play a lot more SS. They don't have to be married to guys like Gimenez playing everyday. He will get the bulk of the starts at SS. But he doesn't need to start they could start Ernie there and sub in Giminez in later for defense while moving Ernie to Third for defense. It's really fun for the first time that I can remember were talking about having to much talent for only so many spots.

Jim Bowden questioned the decision to sign Okamoto. He also got Tyler Rogers confused with his brother Taylor calling Tyler Rogers a big "left handed" addition to the Blue Jays bullpen. So anyone who was on the fence or confused should feel great about the Blue Jays decision now.

He's in everyday player for sure but he could move around a bit. He's best at First Base but we have Vlad. Has played Third. Has played a little bit of OF corner. And DH is occupied. So realistically he's the everyday LF with some 1B starts. Doubt much 3B starts unless injuries.
