  1. Uh oh. That's not good. A lot of players going to see their power numbers tank this season.
  2. Same. Mediocre stop gap players who wanted term. Either of them is fine in a 1Y plug while hoping Groshans and Martin supplant them in 2022, but banking on that is risky. I'm glad we opted for upside plays in Semien and Springer (don't mind the contract at all). This way you're banking on just 1 of Martin or Groshans to push their way onto the team by 2022, instead of both.
  3. Hmmm at one point does the luxury penalty cost them picks?
  4. Or maybe, as I'm just thinking about it now, they are signing Molina, and exploring trades for one of Jansen/Kirk/Moreno for their #2 SP? Hmmm, if only we were privy to the machinations going on.
  5. Maybe at this stage in his career he wants ro win more and perhaps that's the selling point from Toronto's perspective. I think this also means that Toronto wants Kirk to get everyday ABs in AAA this season.
  6. Yeah it's full of contradictions. Or maybe he was out-voted by the rest of the staff on the Jays' system? That could be it. His own personal feelings don't match the rest of Fangraphs.
  7. I'd be comfortable with that cost too. Honestly, with their FO, I could easily see it being cheaper. Would not be surprised at all if replacing Grsohans with Hiraldo would get it done.
  8. Grichuk, Groshans, Kay & Kloff
  9. I agree with everything you said. I'm mostly pointing to the ineptitude of their FO. Even will all those hindrances on the return, this deal is still generally looked at as a poor return for Colorado. Logic would dictate you may be able to pry good assets from that FO for returns smaller than other competent FOs would receive.
  10. That's how I'm hoping it plays out. Could also end up being the reverse of that though. I think it depends who's ready 1st and what openings there are. If Groshans struggles this season and Martin obliterates the minors, he might take over for 3B in 2022. It all depends really.
  11. After this, I'm starting to think we can get Marquez for prospects outside our Top 10. If that's the case, we 100% need to do this now.
  12. They look at the small sample ERA and think, wow, our next Doc Halladay.
  13. Ok this tops the last post. Bravo
  14. There's still time to delete this post. Hurry, before too many notice.
  15. Maybe because he hasn't failed in the majors yet and because he's often forgotten about? Could be a combination of both.
  16. https://podcast.sportsnet.ca/tim-and-sid/jan-26-blue-jays-make-another-free-agent-splash/
  17. Steve Simmons should be banned from all press events. He's so embarrassing and a total s*** muncher. He said some dumb s*** to Kawhi before as well.
  18. I agree 100% with you. Hendricks could still be in play, you're right. Not sure I'd want to give up the assets necessary to get him without eating Bryant's deal though. Ross & Shapiro are probably not trading anyone in our Top 10 prospects list, from what I've seen.
  19. I'm happy with this. It takes us out of the Bryant/Hendricks trade ideas floating around though. So much upside in this move.
  20. He's got an opinion on everything and is one of the most vocal insecure posters on twitter. Spends a lot of his free time feeding the trolls.
  21. I should have kept reading haha
  22. And Bauer apparently hates Mickey Calloway's guts, who's the Angels' pitching coach. So it evens out haha
  23. Bryant/Hendricks + Rosenthal Or Bauer + Rosenthal + Didi or Wong The latter is my preference because it only costs money and a 3rd round pick (from Bauer). It's more expensive, but we hang onto our Top 15 prospects.
