  1. Yep, he fell for every single Tellezism. High FB above the zone, followed by low breaking ball darting into his feet. Easy K.
  2. I think, in this case, this is another one to chalk up most of the blame to Montoyo, both, because Stripling and a reliever with more control are better choices than Chatwood.
  3. Even without hindsight, I would have rathered Stripling to stay in.
  4. Anyone know how his stuff is? Is he a pitch-ability guy or a stuff guy?
  5. Eventually Martin will supplant Gurriel. I'm starting to think he's just having a poor season and won't do enough to get his numbers to a good spot by year's end.
  6. That's definitely true. I noticed that in both the 2nd and 3rd starts. Would like to see Adams with him next time.
  7. Yeah, he even hit 100 a few times in Vancouver. It definitely seems mechanical. Look at Robbie Ray, fixed his mechanics and extended his follow-through and the velocity has never been higher.
  8. 2 starts in a row. Though CU looks better in this start.
  9. Agreed. Would rather have Castro in here than Edwards regardless of result.
  10. I wouldn't blame him. Ray was dominant, I'm actually happy he allowed him to go out for the 7th. This is on the offense for wasting opportunities.
  11. Spin rate has actually decreased! Good shout!
  12. To be honest, I'd prefer extending Ray. I trust Ray paired with Pete. The dude is K'ing everyone and limiting his walks. He's a pitch mix adjustment away from lowering that HR rate and then he's an ace. I would live and die by that type of potential.
  13. Need to demote Tellez at this point. He provides nothing. Would rather call up Riley Adams as a 3rd catcher and DH and give him a chance, especially with Jansen likely needing a couple games off after that slide.
  14. I wonder if Matz is tipping his pitches. A lot of these are decent locations and still being squared up.
  15. Yep. Trusting the book too much. I get doing that near the end of the season and especially the playoffs, but not every game in a 162 game season. The BP is already taxed and it's only 2 months in
  16. That is so nasty and makes total sense. Definitely agree with Kirk at 6 as that's perfect. He had similar K/BB splits as Vlad in the minors and has fantastic bat to ball skills. Then we have 2 low OBP hitters after him followed by King OBP at 9 to turn over the lineup. Love it.
  17. He was hit hard at times but when he came out it was 3ER and 2OB, then McClelland came in and promptly gave him a 3R bomb to inflate Nate's final line. The Ks are great but he definitely isn't looking like a guy that would come up and look unhittable. Most of this is his command. Hopefully people are working with him on fixing his delivery so everything is towards the plate instead of off to 1B side.
