  1. Vlad's BABIP is actually .364 with a AVG of .360 and hard hit metrics through the ceiling. It's crazy to state, but his current performance looks sustainable which means a 8-12 WAR season may be coming.
  2. Really sorry to hear that Hurl . May he be in a better place and no longer in pain. Hope you're holding up ok.
  3. Man, Ray not having it tonight. Velocity is kind of down from the spring and command way off.
  4. This is a really stupid post. You should be ashamed for this. Healthy people with no previous ailments are getting flattened from this. My BIL's FIL was a perfectly healthy 50 yr old and is in the ICU not able to breath on his own and most likely terminal. He's never had lung problems, and as fit as you can get for his age. Saying it's just a fly is extremely disrespectful..
  5. The thing with Tellez, is you could empathize with him and maybe look past the struggles if the K/BB% & exit velo was the same as 2020, and chalk it up to BABIP, but he looks unplayable and is whiffing at everything and any adjustments to lay off the high FB and low Off-speed is gone. You can't really justify it is a BABIP short sample slump. I would give him a full month to see for certain if the K/BB stabilize and maybe he's just in his head. If at that point, it looks the same, send him down or waive him if you can't.
  6. Yeah he looks like 2019 Rowdy. 2020 is looking like an aberration.
  7. Phillies announcers insulting LGJ now... Very insufferable.
  8. As am I. One of the best non-trades we've done . As a prospect guy, I definitely love having our horder FO.
  9. I agree. The value they place on their own prospects is very high. Hell I would say, that's a thing league-wide for the most part. It's very rare now to see Top 10 team prospects get traded. At some point there's going to be a logjam when all of Martinez, Groshans, Martin, Hiraldo & Moreno are pushing Bo, Cavan, Vlad, Springer, Teo, LGJ, & Kirk/Jansen; but that is the only time I see our FO trading Top 10 prospects in our system. I don't see them trading Manoah, SWR, etc either because they probably project them both a #1/#2 pitchers vs the industry looking at them as mid-rotation arms.
  10. Well that right there tells me the gun isn't hot. That seems standard for Thornton. Ray's velo is legit.
  11. This front office likely agrees with you. They've said as much basically with their comments on a belief on player development and letting prospects prove themselves in the same franchise vs using them as trade capital.
  12. Yeah and it was reported he was up to 97 mph in the off-site last season. He's possibly still ramping up and it's more of a matter of sitting mid-90s instead of low 90s. It's definitely possible.
  13. I saw curveball once on GameDay when I just opened it. Is he throwing changeups as well? I'm not listening but it read like he's dominating and painting corners for swinging strikes
  14. And at this point, we know what Grichuk is. Personally, I'd like to see if Tellez' 2020 is real.
  15. Hmmmm we should try and extend Bo this spring. I'd wait on Vlad though. Bo hasn't had a full season yet, so no basis to demand crazy numbers. I wonder if an extension a bit more expensive than Acuna could do it? Acuna 8/100M Bichette 10/160M Would that do it?
  16. I'm out on Castillo with what he'd cost. You're probably pretty close on the cost with eating the Moose deal. We definitely do not want to eat the Moose deal because it will screw our financial flexibility. And we don't want to shell out the likes of Gurriel + 3 of our Top 10 prospects, which is the likely cost of Castillo alone. So, with that said, I'm out on him all together. My target is someone like Jon Gray, who only has 1Y left and, with a change of scenery, has potential to be a #1/2 caliber SP. He could also be had for not much more than Matz, because he's coming off an injured down-season in 2020.
  17. Zing.. Handed to the chub
  18. Wouldn't that be something haha. Hopefully be then we have Ryu, Ace Nate, and 1 of Ray/Matz/Trade/Stripling/Call-up who's good enough to be a 3rd playoff SP.
  19. I really hope we can take the division. The 1 game playoff sucks m, especially because I can see it being TOR/TB again, which scares me.
