    I agree. I think Tiedes has that type of potential. The only question is inning limitations. Having another guy to plug at #5 instead of relying on question marks like Kikuchi and White, would be a better stop-gap until Tiedemann is ready.

    Yep, we could definitely just do that at this point. Conforto or Brantley. Either could platoon with LGJ vs RHP. We could also free up DH spots if we try and trade Jano for a premier RP. That would solve another issue.

    Outside of Rodon, he's definitely the best of the rest. Losing the pick isn't great, but he's solid.

    Or sign Conforto and trade Kirk for Cristian Javier (they're dead even on BTV and looking at FG, that checks out).

    Did he really though? Unless I'm missing some recent, he only told reports he's been to 1 country, that doesn't mean he didn't speak with the Blue Jays in Dunedin at, say, their Player Development Complex, which actually would make sense, since they use that to help lure FAs. Remember the reports of Liam Hendricks seeing shown around the Complex, same with Springer.

    Shapiro said today they can exceed the CBT and money is off the books next season. No reason why they can't spend north of $40M in FA. I would imagine they can grab both Senga & Nimmo for around $45M AAV total.

    Rodon is probably getting 200M+ in this market. 6Y/150M could actually be the Senga contract.

    Easily, in a heartbeat for sure. Nootbar has 5 years of control, Jansen only 2.

    Could be yes, Jansen is older, often injured and less control. That said, the risk is that Thomas doesn't adjust and is replacement value for the all those years of control while Jansen's last couple years of control net 6+ fWAR regardless of injuries.

    Jansen for Alek Thomas+? Thomas has a great minors track record, is young, and just finished his 1st full MLB season. He could translate more in 2023?

    Adley Rutschman accumulated 5.3 fWAR in 113 GP. Julio Rodriguez accumulated the same in 132 GP. It's absolutely defensible that he voted for him. How often do you see a C prospect come up and be amazing instantly? We were spoiled with Kirk and, to an extent, Moreno (super small sample) but they bust or struggle for years before putting it together (Jansen) usually.

    1. Trade Moreno & Espinal + for Carroll 2. Sign Kodai Senga 3. Extend Bo or Vlad I would be over the moon if Ross could pull off something like this. I will be "whelmed" if the plan is trading Jansen for Nootbar and signing Heiney.

    All that means is we need to match/exceed value to get it done. It could still happen. The above trade matches the value. You could sub out Jimenez and add someone better to exceed Carroll's value and get it down, or add another guy to the proposed package and achieve the same result. It's not impossible.

    I like the idea of signing Senga & trading Moreno+ for Corbin Carroll.

    Flexen has an awful statcast page. Hard pass. I would rather sign Senga & Heaney, trade Teo for RP and trade 1 of the C for a CF (something like Kirk+ for Caroll)

    Funny enough I posted a trade porposal on Reddit of Kirk+ for Javier & Abreu lol. Jays would probably need to add a bit, but the framework and values on either side check out.

    That's no where close to fair value. Kirk was worth almost double the fWAR last season. Kirk for Javier is much closer. Kirk was worth more fWAR, is a year younger and has 1 extra year of control. It's still much closer.

    Yep, not a chance. It's laughable hearing that Nootbar would cost Kirk or Moreno "+" Lol. I wouldn't do the deal straight up for either, let alone "+". It's the opposite. Jansen for Nootbar is much closer.
