What's Schneider supposed to do when every "high leverage" choice he could use doesn't have much swing and miss or velocity? He's rolling the dice no matter what he did.
Vlad should absolutely do some serious reflecting once the season is finished.
The guy needs to meet with the high performance psychologists and get his head game back in check. Going from someone who's extremely patient and doesn't chase, to his best Bo impression and also killing worms. If the Front Office doesn't do all in their power to fix him, it's malpractice.
Front Office should fire whatever scouts they assigned for watching their opposition and looking for ways to exploit their pitchers.
Other teams seem to do this great against our SPs, but our batters always come up with no plan whatsoever.
That's fair. I don't trust him. His stuff is really good and as a BP arm, he's been electric overall.
He does seem like the type to wilt in the moment, but it's like the ultimate stats vs intangibles argument.
In my opinion, it should be below:
CF Springer
SS Bichette
3B Guerrero Jr
RF Hernandez
DH Jansen
C Kirk
3B Chapman
LF Tapia
2B Merrifield
C/IF/OF Moreno
OF Bradley Jr
IF Espinal
OF Gurriel Jr (if healthy) or Zimmer
Manoah
Gausman
Stripling
Romano
Bass
Garcia
Mayza
Pop
Phelps
Cimber
Richards
Kikuchi
Berrios
I think they've tried that. It hasn't really worked because his FB is as straight as an arrow and he always throws it middle/middle. He's a lot like Merryweather actually.
Yes they definitely remind me of the 2015 Royals and that scares the s*** out of me. A great BABIP run from a team that sprays the ball, instead of trying for high exit velos and whiffing, could easily eliminate us.
I'm terrified of that.
This is where I stand as well. Keep the offensive team as is and backfill from within.
I would try and make a play for Carlos Rodon in FA as my big signing. And then a couple cheap BP arms and then focus on extensions for Bo and for Vlad (coming off his down year).
Yeah man I agree. Nice to hear it was only a cut instead of a blister.
Change of topic. Zach Pop looks amazing today. That Slider is nasty. Dude could really be something for us in the future, and, hell, these playoffs. Great name and Canadian too.
Yes unfortunately. Leaving Sliders and even Splitters up and not getting his FB up enough when trying to work the top of the zone.
I don't blame the sequencing.
