  1. Do as you please I just don't understand why anyone cares about what New York fans think. It's such a weird obsession to me.
  2. It was too close to overturn. Remember it's not when Vlad closes the glove on the ball it's when it enters the pocket area. It's too tough to know for sure if Judge touched the bag before it was in the pocket.
  3. Don't be cute with their power potential. See how quickly things got tense in the last inning?
  4. Wow! Too close to overturn I guess. Bruihl you f***ing wizard.
  5. That's the risk of bringing in Bruihl where they did. If he doesn't get the outs now he's got to face Aaron Judge. If they were going to bring him in they should have let him have a clean inning. At least you could have brought in a righty here.
  6. BO!! Honestly thought that was a fly ball to the warning track.
  7. Yankees are absolutely embarrassing defensively. Holy s***. I mean you don't want to have to rely on that every time but what the f*** are they doing out there?
  8. Bit of a conflicted day for Bassitt. Three home runs, not good, but that's about all they did off of him, seven innings is really nice so all in all got to be pretty happy. Vladdy also makes up for his garbage play with a nice one.
  9. Myles Straw! We all had that on our bingo card I'm sure!
  10. Wow. Don't really see that happen here outside of day games.
  11. Well the power differential between the teams really coming to the forefront in this series. We get a lot of traffic, we need to string together hits and walks, and they just crank away. Both teams are somewhat extreme. You need a little bit of both approaches, but we really need more power production.
  12. What are they saying now that Judge just crushed the tying home run? Stop with this childish nonsense.
  13. Sorry my expectations are World Series contender, your expectations are scraping into the postseason in order to make a quick exit. So what the hell are you on point about? I guess by your mediocre standards you're right lol. By my standards I'm right, this team's not been close for a team that sells itself as a World Series contender. By the way, I was a huge fan of the 2021 team. My only criticism is that they should have gone all in because that was obviously a World Series contender with one or two key pieces especially if they added better bullpen arms and sooner. It's the teams since then that have been a problem. If you predicted that Springer and Kirk were going to have bounce back All-Star caliber campaigns, that Barger was going to emerge the way that he has, that Laurer was going to essentially save our rotation, that we would get so many contributions from bit players, go ahead and dunk, but you didn't see all this coming, nobody did. I'm thrilled with doing well, I really am, I want to win a World Series, but this team has exceeded all expectations because things happened that we didn't think would happen. All that being said: Vlad is still a problem. If he were doing what he was capable of doing we might be one or two pieces away from actually being a serious World Series contender this year with the way things have fallen in place.
  14. I didn't complain about his lead off base hit, I didn't have a problem with it. And I didn't say Vladdy doesn't have power but he's not hitting for power. I don't care how many pitches he parks into the seats during batting practice. And what does us playing well have to do with the fact that Vlad isn't hitting for power and that the team isn't hitting for power? We're trying to win a World Series and one of the things that could inhibit us is our lack of power. It's a legitimate talking point. No different than talking about the things we want to add at the deadline to help us going forward. So it's obviously worth talking about especially when our half a billion dollar man, who should be one of the most powerful hitters in baseball, isn't. You can be a blind cheerleader all you want I don't care but this is relevant baseball discussion.
  15. Remember when Ji Man Choi suddenly decided to try that against us a few years ago? Struck out in his first at bat and then hit a first pitch rocket into the seats in his second at bat. I think he did it for like 10 at bats and then never did it again.
  16. When you look at the lineups we throw out there against lefties it really does make me think we can use another platoon right handed hitter because even if we get healthy, Varsho and Gimenez are left-handed hitters. Between them and Barger that's too many left-handers in the lineup and none of them hit lefties well. And we can really use Clement breaking out of his current slump. And if Vlad can actually be a superstar slugger that would be nice, it's asking a lot I know.
  17. Yes there was some good that came out of it, and now we have more options which is good, but we need those power options as well. It's good to be multidimensional but we're missing some of that dimension. Especially in the postseason, it's hard to string together base runners, you need the ability to quick strike. Varsho is Myles Straw with power. Santander's ability to switch hit with power also helps offset opposition pitching strategies. We're better off with these guys than without them.
  18. Our offense has been pretty mediocre in the first couple of games. Three throwing errors have contributed to half of our runs. Granted they haven't done much either, but they got the big bombs.
  19. Power in general is something we need more of. Yankees got quick strikes the whole game with it. It would be nice if Vladdy could be that guy but he's not. Varsho will help Santander's injury really hurt us
  20. Bah. Oh well. Tough one tomorrow. At least Boston lost.
  21. The pitching plan has really worked out quite well. Got to reward your manager with a win.
  22. Dude was throwing strikes tonight. He came through big time. Good for him!
  23. Straw getting a hit off Weaver might have been the most shocking hit of the year if it happened. I was hoping he would hit a slow ground ball to Volpe. Just to watch The terror on Volpe's face.
