  1. Well, we still have to see what the plan is. Will they make him a starter or use him off the bench? If he is coming off the bench, how's he going to feel about that?
  2. I was really hoping it would work out, was hoping he could be back this year. Pretty shocking to do during a rehab assignment from a major surgery, but he always seemed to be pitching with smoke and mirrors even when he was healthy. I guess they just felt that's all he was going to be.
  3. This might be a stupid question, but do they get in house feeds in real time of the cameras in the dugout? Because the television feed always has a delay.
  4. Ty with the sudden and mysterious oblique inflammation. Like like that may be the end of Ty France. Curious to see how they deploy Santander.
  5. Ah, okay. Thanks, I missed this post. Gonna have to watch out that teams don't find a way to "Houston Astro" this.
  6. I don't know, if it's related to his unhappiness with the team then it's potentially a consequential signal that all is not well behind the scenes.
  7. True but, did we ever find out what that weird clearly unhappy home run trot was all about?
  8. Yeah but that's in games that don't mean anything, in games that mean something teams will work this to a science if they are given a chance. What do they consider "immediate"? By the time the pitcher gets the ball back?
  9. Something certainly feels off in the Santander situation. Reading between the lines, I get the sense that this is like the Spencer Turnbull thing. It never felt like they really wanted Spencer on the roster, it didn't feel like they were convinced of his readiness but they kind of had no choice because time ran out. I wonder if they just feel like their current outfield situation and roster flexibility is worth more than what they see from Santander in his rehab.
  10. Seattle may be a little bit high, but notice how it's American League teams with the best chance at a bye that are near to the top mostly except the Dodgers of course. The NL is more stacked so the odds of making it out of the NL for any one team is lower. I think overall quality of competition and where the seedings may land is playing a big role.
  11. It depends how quickly replay rooms can get a look at it. How much time do you get? Because an efficient replay room can learn operate to immediately check the replay and relay a signal within 5 or so seconds. Unless you make it so that it's illegal to get help from any outside sources including no signals from your dugout.
  12. I don't know how I feel about this. It kind of hurts teams that have great framers, and we have one of them. Also there has to be a Vladdy rule. He's not allowed to ever use one.
  13. The number three slot in our playoff rotation is THE major question mark. Right now there's no comfortable answer. Perhaps some piggyback of Yesavage and Lauer? Bo would really benefit from us not falling into the wildcard, Santander should probably come off the bench if Bo plays unless he looks really good here in the last six games. I've largely been fine with Schneider's bullpen usage, I think he makes mostly good decisions, I think our pitchers just blow a lot of games. Hoffman, you just got to hope he gets on a roll at the most perfect time of year. Maybe that playoff adrenaline will go straight to his fastball.
  14. I thought Detroit was ranked a little bit too high but otherwise thought the rankings were pretty fair.
  15. I wonder if his value to the FO has gone up given what our offense has looked like without him. But he's got to move to second base, it's non-negotiable.
  16. You forgot to mention Detroit, they might end up battling for the wild card instead of Cleveland. How much fun would it be if that final series of the season between Detroit and Boston had both those teams fighting for their playoff lives? Crochet is currently not scheduled to pitch in that series, if he does it would be on short rest. Skubal would be lined up for game 162 if they needed him. Wild stuff if it comes to that.
  17. Ah, I see.
  18. While I admire your utter disdain and complete disregard of the Boston Red Sox, they are very much not done and can help screw up our situation real fast.
  19. Well he hit a home run as a righty a couple of days ago then took 20 years to circle the bases for some reason.
  20. Plaudits on a playoff berth. October baseball back in the city! Still some heavy lifting to do to win this division.
  21. I can see the Royals really bouncing back strong next year with a full season with Cole Ragans especially.
  22. I'm not talking about the numbers, I'm talking about the stuff, the command, the contact and the lack of swing and miss.
  23. Not really an encouraging start by Yesavage honestly. Yeah he got squeezed a little bit, but not a lot of swing and miss and some really good contact. A bit wild at times. This doesn't make the postseason decision any easier for Schneider and company.
