What I mean is, I don't think they're treating this as a must-win game, or at least I wouldn't, they obviously want to win this game, they would like to beat the odds but they have to be prudent.
Out of the remaining five games this one is your worst chance to win statistically speaking, so you push more of your pieces into the next four, you hope to beat the odds in this one, but if it starts off poorly, you hold back some of your better chips, you don't go all in to save this game is what I'm saying. You push more of your chips into the next four and you take your chances there.
If you manage to win this game anyhow, great, if you don't, you've done the best you can to line up your next four knowing that you still have the advantage over the Yankees.
