    I really like what they've done here, I like the balls that they've shown to do what they have to do to maximize their odds to win this series and not worry about people's feelings.

    I understand the idea of all hands on deck but I think it's actually reckless to take a guy coming off of surgery and to start doing stuff like that with him. I don't think they're going to go there with him no matter what. Like it would have to be a desperate situation where you're deep into extra innings and there's nobody left.

    They have 10 bullpen arms. I don't think they would pitch Bieber on short rest anyway because I don't think they will do that with him coming off surgery. I don't think that's going to be an option this postseason for him at all. Nor do I have any reason to think that would be a better option than our bullpen arms anyhow.

    Well, no Bo. That's not a shocker, no Bassitt is somewhat. Bruihl over Bassitt confirms what I've been thinking, bullpen day is a better chance to win than Bassitt and certainly Scherzer.

    What makes you think that by starting Yesavage that you aren't planning to win? As far as him not getting rattled, he's human. He struggled every time he moved up a level in his first game including even his first inning in the majors. I don't mind him in game 2 at all.

    Yeah there's always people around to defend him when he stinks in a big game. That game against Seattle, I think they needed him to pitch into the 7th inning, he wasn't bad but they needed more and he wasn't great in San Francisco either. Say what you want about the Boston and Tampa games, I'm not quite buying it though. But he'll get his chance tomorrow. Game 1 at home, a full five days of rest. There will be no excuses. Put up or shut up.

    I don't think this means he can't DH. You can be a "regular" while DH'ing. It would slaughter your OF defense if Santander is also playing but it can be done.

    The more I think about it the more I think Yesavage in game 2 makes the most sense. Or maybe Yesavage behind an opener.

    It's not Bellinger's wheels that worry me about him.

    Gil tends to minimize the damage. Only gave up more than 2 runs in two of 11 starts. 1 of his last 10. Warren probably stands a better chance of being great, but I think they feel they will score runs against Toronto so they just want to minimize the damage against. That Warren game where he got smoked probably looms although I think they thought he may have been tipping pitches in that one.

    Regular season doesn't matter anymore. Besides so many things change throughout the season. Yankees don't have as many flaws as they did through much of the season.

    The better team won all four series IMO. Phillies versus Dodgers could be very interesting. I think the winner of that series represents the National League.

    It's Michael Kay versus Buck Martinez. Which team actually does suck? We'll find out soon.

    Because everyone in the bullpen except for one guy will have at least two days rest? So yeah they will be rested except for the closer who will still get a day off.

    This game isn't over yet. But Boston's going to have to get into that bullpen soon.

    Wow. Got to feel bad for the kid. He made some good pitchers but he's not getting a lot of help.
