  1. I absolutely remember him as being a good high fastball hitter. There were times I couldn't believe the pitches he was able to get to that were at his chin. Maybe it's just anecdotal, maybe he mostly missed those pictures and I just happened to see the times he didn't but I remember him being very good at it.
  2. Well that's...something. Unfortunately they're probably the best of the teams that were chasing and I can't see them continuing on like this for much longer.
  3. The team is exactly where it should be, battling for a wild card spot. This team was never a surefire bet. They got here a little bit differently than might have been expected, but if Texas and Baltimore were going to be the real deal this season, and I felt they would be, I don't know how anyone thought the Blue Jays would be a surefire bet. It was bound to be tight.
  4. Kansas city, how is that relevant?
  5. It ain't over, people will overreact to losing two of three, but it's far from over. The problem is there are no signs that this is the type of team that's going to go on the type of run that will be required to grab a playoff spot. They are constantly four steps forward and three steps back. It's a good team, but it's not a great team, everybody ahead of us is a better team. We will need some luck and some overperformance.
  6. Naw, 2021 was worse. That team was a serious postseason threat. It's amazing to me if anyone thinks that this team could be at this point.
  7. That's my first choice. Well, pulling Vladdy out of the lineup is my first choice but that's not going to happen. Or you could pull Varsho and keep KK in. Your defense is going to take a hit either way, but this kid needs to be seeing regular at bats until he proves he shouldn't be seeing regular at bats. Our offenses on life support we have to take the hit on defense.
  8. Human arms just aren't designed to throw that level of filth over an extended period of time.
  9. He was even running as hard as he could there and still didn't have a chance for second
  10. It's fun watching good players on other teams work the count, foul off tough pitches and wait until they get good pitches to hit. Even when they make outs they have great at bats. You always feel like they might make something happen. Then you have f***ing Vlad flailing away at whatever s*** the pitcher throws to the plate without a single f***ing care in the world and when he does get a cookie, routinely missing them. Quite the dichotomy. How is it possible that he got this bad? I don't think I've ever hated a Blue Jays player more. There have certainly been worse players, but that's because they weren't talented. I've never experienced the type of physical anger this man brings out in me. I literally don't want to see him play anymore. I'll take Schneider or anybody else they want to call up. It can't be worse at this point. Why not bench him for three or four straight games? Maybe it will make him mad. Maybe an angry Vladdy might actually be good for us. Because happy-go-lucky don't give a s*** Vladdy who knows he's going to play every day isn't working for anybody.
  11. Cavan should get into the game today, not only is he hitting well but he probably had the best AB yesterday. Schneider should get in there also, although I can understand going with your everyday players against a division rival and maybe saving the kid for the homestand.
  12. Whenever it's determined that he's healthy enough to pitch again, I would consider make him a second half/playoff pitcher. Hit exclusively in the first half as a DH, and multipurpose after the all-star break or maybe a bit sooner. Otherwise you can start him for all your home games and playoff games. That would give his arm sufficient rest throughout the season. I don't like the idea of making him a bullpen arm and don't even think making him a bullpen arm necessarily is healthier for him.
  13. These things they happen. It sucks for baseball. I personally don't care about how much he makes, I have no stake in that and he's already made more than enough money to live comfortably for generations of his family so let's not overdo it and act like there's some sort of tragedy developing here. Definitely sucks for baseball though, I do feel bad for him from an individual talent perspective, great player and great ambassador of the game.
  14. There is no such thing. It counts as one game, just like the other 161. It was lost. Try to win the series tomorrow and move on. If they win tomorrow it was a good 3 days in Baltimore.
  15. So pick him up for your fantasy team. Good luck.
  16. Oh God stop it with the statement game nonsense. The most overused terminology in fandom. It's a game like any other, they lost, there's another one tomorrow.
  17. Win the series tomorrow and hopefully feast on a softer schedule. All's well.
  18. I understand that but you're the one that sounded impressed by a horrible pitcher being on the mound in a seven run game.
  19. He's f***ing terrible dude
  20. If that abomination of an outfielder ever plays defense for us again my head might explode. I love Teo, but I've never seen a more embarrassing outfielder.
  21. I assume this will do?
  22. Give up another run and don't face Bautista. 4D chess
  23. Okay, looks like we'll have to be extra dramatic and do it off Bautista
