Kids off to a good start. Don't want to get carried away, league doesn't know much about him yet, but f*** did this team need this energy boost after that Orioles series.
I've just lost all belief in this guy. He fooled people by tearing the cover off the ball in a AAA stadium. He has his hot spurts here and there. But he's mostly a pretty s***** hitter. Gets away with it sometimes because of his bat speed. Everything else about his approach is utter s***.
I see things are off to a nice start. Including the kid. He's not going to be a saviour of anything but if he can inject a little bit of enthusiasm into this offense it would be nice.
Very sorry to hear about your ordeal friend. That sounds legitimately terrifyingly awful and extremely painful. The thumb especially is the worst finger to injure. I hope you can find yourself back to a good mental place and quality of life.
I once brought a girl to play baseball for the first time in her life with my friends, had her play shortstop, told her to make sure to keep the ball in front of her and not play it off to the side. Those fields in the park are not quite as supple as major league fields. She took a one bouncer to the face and lost four teeth and was a bloody disaster. But she did keep the ball in front of her.
At the end of the day, your stars have to be your stars. Vladdy he has to be better, Springer has to be better, even Kirk needs to step up. You simply can't gameplan around some of your best players underperforming, you can't cover for that.
