  1. Just remember: They can't hurt you if you expect nothing. Go Jays!
  2. Where the f*** do they hire these people from? No f***ing awareness at all.
  3. Lol Kirky. Why not? Try to get that OPS up early.
  4. Fans getting their money's worth in the left field bleachers.
  5. Pretty much how I've seen him after the 2021 season. He's at best a #3.
  6. White flag, we're playing our donkeys.
  7. Well, it's not like we expected the bullpen to be great.
  8. And all we had to offer was batting practice Berrios.
  9. There isn't much in the way of expected good batting average in this lineup, so it stands to reason that they won't get many hits or hit well with RISP.
  10. Realistically every team in baseball has to go through cycles. Certain teams have to do it more and we're one of those teams. This is about asset management and hoping that significant talent lines up for one really strong window, like in 2015 and '16 and then again in 2021. Those were windows of opportunity where the talent seemed to line up, in the case of '21 the front office didn't do enough early enough to fix the bullpen. This current roster is a complete Frankenstein stuck in mediocrity, that's the worst place to be.
  11. How much of a price hike was it?
  12. Well then forget about my expectations, do you see this Blue Jays team as a legitimate World Series contender? Even the most blind and loyal supporter can't be that oblivious to this team's shortcomings. It's a matter of playing the odds, odds are pretty low that this team competes for a World Series.
  13. Anything is better than watching his fat ass walk away after the season. This team is not good enough to ride out the season with him nor enough of a destination market to replace him. Teams like Toronto have to trade assets they aren't likely to re-sign unless they are stacked and in the midst of a legitimate World Series contending window.
  14. If you couldn't get him to sign at a number you were comfortable with, last trade deadline should have been the furthest you go with him. You make your final offer and either he signs or you trade him for a haul of assets.
  15. Unless it's all Rogers' decision it appears clear the baseball people within the organization don't feel comfortable giving Vlad superstar money and it's completely understandable. That having been said, you knew Vlad was going to overvalue himself, you knew the market was inflating for superstar players, The decision on him, one way or another, needed to have been made long before this point. Inexcusable handling of your most important asset.
  16. Tampa, KC and Seattle. Boston, Texas, O's WC. The AL is open for sure. As open as ever. Still hate the direction of this team. Whoever comes out of the AL will be target practice for LA anyhow. NL: Dodgers, no one else matters. Basically ruining the entire baseball season before it even starts.
  17. Not concerned about the challenge system, more so if they fully automated the strike zone it would hurt Kirk. I personally think a challenge type system is the best way to go, I think pitch framing should remain part of the game. But I'm also a bit of a dinosaur at this point
  18. I'm good with this, some of his value will be lost the more baseball commits to automated strike zones, but that will probably happen gradually so it shouldn't affect much of this contract value.
  19. My expectation for Barnes was always a glue guy / jack of all trades type player. Still very valuable but I actually see more as a third option offensively. He really has a limited scoring game. Defense has improved though. Barrett could be a reliable secondary scorer but while it's great that he can get to the rim, once he gets there he misses a lot of bunnies and misses a lot of free throws. Kind of defeats the purpose. I see why he was an intriguing player but also why the Knicks gave up on him. Quickley can score well enough, but he doesn't have that dog in him defensively. I think we need a dog as our point guard. I really like Shead, but I'm not sure he be can be a number one. Quickley's best role was the way New York utilized him. But he costs too much for that role. Dick I always saw as a three-point specialist/sixth man potential wise. We REALLY need a hit in this draft. We're a playoff team as is but nothing more than middle of the pack without more talent.
  20. Yeah they would have easily made the play in if they felt like it, I'm glad they didn't feel like it because that would have been a giant waste of time. We really need some draft luck. We need a franchise player, or at least an all-star out of this draft that we can build around.
  21. Leafs at least have high end talent. They drafted well in the years they were bad at least, it's the rest of the team construction part that they screwed up. They have almost zero offense coming from the blue line and that has completely killed the overall offensive flow of this team and will be their undoing in the playoffs.
  22. The Raptors have to be the absolute dumbest organization in basketball at the moment. And this is a league that includes the Dallas Mavericks. I thought the Jays had the dumbest front office in Toronto but clearly I was wrong. Tantalizingly close to securing a high pick in a great draft and they piss it all away with a half-assed tank. We're apparently the only team in the NBA that doesn't know how to tank. Why the hell are we playing our starters into the fourth quarter of games, building up nice leads just to ensure we win the game with a bunch of G-leaguer journeyman. Why didn't we play these half-assed lineups earlier in the year when we faced good teams to build a buffer for this bad part of the schedule? Why are we letting division rivals get a better chance at higher draft odds? This is active self-harm and I don't know how ownership isn't stepping in and smacking them all across the face for this. Garbage organization. It's a miracle these clowns won a title.
  23. Poetic that it should be McDavid. Best on best still belongs to us. Get f***ed Trump!
  24. US has the best team especially because of Hellebuyck. But it's close enough where it could go either way. You certainly can't get into a high scoring game with them.
