Hitting .207 with 17 hits in 82 ab with an OPS of .682 since joining us. Even Zaun suggested putting him in the 5/6 slot last night. He's never really been a leadoff hitter and he never should have been.
You could put JPA in the leadoff this year and it wouldn't hurt us.
The only other player to do what Joe did (Mazeroski) is in the hall of fame and his numbers are remarkably similar to or poorer than Joe's. The problem is Joe was a dick to the press and he played for the Jays.
JD is an entirely different kind of hitter to Joe. JD is brilliant but Joe was also a legend, regardless of what modern day stats geeks say. Plus:

Can we just end the 'Tulo as lead off hitter' experiment already? It's clearly affecting the guy and there's no reason Revere can't occupy that spot and drop Tulo to say 5th.
