  1. Don't worry, we've got the lineup to handle him.....wait...
  2. Not worried; the heart of our order is coming up 4-6. Wait....
  3. This lineup, I mean.......... http://static.tumblr.com/d90d26b89bbe05a5e20bf72e3b7d40d1/avrirwh/T01mnyxga/tumblr_static_god_help_us_all_web_image.jpg
  4. I mean f*** it, why even bother? Put Travis and Bautista on the DL, move in Smoak and some stiff from AAA and just shoot for the highest first round pick and prep for the inevitable fire sale. Now watch these clowns put up 10+ runs tonight!
  5. Absent the top three, there are AAA clubs who probably have a more potent offensive lineup. f*** me.
  6. Agreed, although we could use a bit more mediocre pitching right now.
  7. Nice outing by Marcum, but honestly I can't see it lasting; he looks like a classic AAA spot start/emergency relief pitcher these days. I'm not sure I saw his fastball crack 90mph when I was watching and while his sliders were often quite good, the Chisox were also swinging at some real garbage. The Houston/Detroit game today looks like a dandy at 1:00pm, as does the Mets/Cardinals at the same time; bummer that these games are in the afternoon while I'm still at work! Happ is pitching today for Seattle for those interested in tuning in.
  8. I don't know if this mess is really Gibbons fault or not, but I cannot understand how the different lines of reasoning about accountability works. Honestly most of the time it seems like this: >It's not Rogers fault, they've provided enough money for a contender >It's not Beeston's fault, he's doing a great job getting owners to raise the budget and he's presided over 2 world series already. >It's not AA's fault, injuries and an unexpected tightening of the budget at the worst times has hamstrung his ability to make significant roster moves >It's not Gibbon's fault, he can only work with what he has. >It's not the players fault, the artificial turf and Dunedin make for lousy playing facilities that lead to injuries >It's not the media's fault because they're only reporting on what they see So, who's left to blame for the last 6 seasons of futility and the longest playoff drought in major league sports? The fans? Internet forums? The grounds crew? The equipment manager? The ball boys/girls? Somebody please tell me, because I need to know for my own sanity.
  9. Yep, it's still on the 24th and the Spirit is due to be poured out on all true believers. That's what you meant right?
  10. The Indians-White Sox game is a really good one; 4-1 Cleveland just now in top of 7th, Marcum 6 strong innings so far. He seems to have gained quite a bit of weight and his fastball is pretty weak, but his sliders and changeups have been crisp at times.
  11. 2010: 85-77, 4th in division, $86m payroll 2011: 81-81, 4th in division, $76m payroll 2012: 73-89, 4th in division, $103m payroll 2013: 74-88, 5th in division, $127m payroll 2014: 83-79, 3rd in division, $137m payroll 2015: 18-24, 5th in division, $127m payroll And the beat goes on......
  12. Wow, the Angel's hitters are horrible. One run on a BB in that situation is really poor.
  13. He's uglier and thus fits in better with Colabello, Sanchez etc.?
  14. For the amount of money/term he signed for Martin should be catching every game, some of Buffalo's and caddying for AA when he plays golf with Beeston. Bastard.
  15. Right, I remember now. Interesting to see him pitching after nearly 2 years out of the bigs.
  16. Did a bit of a double take on this one, but the starting pitcher tonight for Cleveland after going 4-0 with a 1.36 ERA in AAA Columbus is none other than Shawn Marcum! I can't remember, didn't he fall out with somebody in the Blue Jays organization before he was traded?
  17. Perhaps somebody could put a poll on the forum as to how many games Saunders will actually play for us this year? My guess is 70-80.
  18. Back on the subject of Syndergaard, interesting story by the CBC: http://www.cbc.ca/sports/baseball/mlb/blue-jays-will-they-regret-dealing-prospects-for-r-a-dickey-1.3078434 Current results: 84% say it was a bad trade. No s***.
  19. Redmond? http://lake.blogs.com/.a/6a00d83452654869e200e55282a3988834-pi
  20. I watched him pitch a lot yesterday and he is good. The most galling part was when the NY Mets commentators described him as an "untouchable" in any trade and previously when they called the Dickey trade "the greatest in Mets history, turning one year of Cy Young Dickey into d'Arnaud, Syndergaard and Becerra." That's as near as I can paraphrase it, but even taking into account their obvious homerism ouch.
  21. Syndergaard pitched 6 innings, 1 ER, 3 hits, 5 SO and 1 walk in his second major league start. His control definitely needs some more work, but his stuff is excellent. Hit 99 mph on his fastball with movement and his curveball is crisp. Still a work in progress obviously.
  22. Double play coming? Come on Bautista, get it done... There you go!
  23. While it's hard to watch this team right now (and it really is a s*** show) never in my worse nightmares did I imagine that by May 17th our outfield would be Carrera, Colabello and Pillar while our infield would be Goins, Tolleson and EE regulalry on 1st. I mean, holy s***.....
  24. DeSclafani and Alvarez getting rocked by the Giants and Braves respectively. Syndergaard pitching really well into the 5th, but it's against the Brewers so....
  25. Syndergaard just strikes out Davis with a 98mph fastball after an 80mph curveball!
