So honest question here; Michael Hill is the President of Baseball Operations at the Marlins and his duties then do not include being GM of the franchise? I'm only curious because the press have been insisting that there are no GM vacancies in baseball at the moment. -
I agree in general with this sentiment, but this is the same board which confidently predicted that AA could get along with Shapiro.

I did hear that, but I'm wondering whose deadline this is - the Jays or another offer AA may or may not have?

So clearly money and term are not the issue. AA doesn't even seem to dislike Shapiro as a person, it's just a clash of philosophy. Why then the rush to make a decision - does he have something else in his pocket?

BTW Is AA on the moon or in orbit? This is like NASA trying to buzz the International Space Station or something.

After seeing this quote from Wilner, I am now fully convinced that this was the right move by the Jays and that everything will be fine: "It's a huge mistake on the Blue Jays part; [Anthopoulos] had a fantastic year, he might have had the best trade deadline ever."

So just to be clear, Fox says they pushed the wrong button, they meant to hit the game 7 Royals vs Jays graphic and that there is no conspiracy. Doesn't this beg the rather obvious question then as to why the f*** that world series graphic was ready at all?

If that was Estrada's last game in Toronto (and I certainly hope it isn't), what an effort. Incredible. Unfortunately ESPN's and MLB.com's only highlight of this match will now be the solo home run. (I kid).

These American announcers are like a living embodiment of everything we as Canadians hate about the American sports media (and their media in general). Ignorant, arrogant, blinkered, narrow-minded and in most cases not even attempting to hide their biases/prejudices. How anyone can take these clowns seriously as "journalists" is almost beyond my comprehension.
