  1. Vladdy details talks with Jays: Asking price was 'much less than Soto' https://thescore.com/mlb/news/3235167 Vlad says his "last counter offer" was 14 years and didn't exceed $600M. Sounds to me like his original request was over $600M - which is crazy. But it is encouraging to see he did seemingly negotiate with the Jays (somewhat). But it seems obvious he was asking for a huge bag of $$$. Can't blame Atkins or Rogers for walking away from that demand.
  2. What is the correct pronunciation?
  3. Absolutely not. I mean if Varsho is on a hot streak, I'm OK moving him up there for a week or 2, but it's not a sustainable approach. Give me Wagner there to start the year. I need Varsho healthy, patrolling CF and hitting in the bottom 1/3 of the order. Has there been any reports on when his arm will be strong enough to play CF?
  4. My point is those underlying numbers are a better indication of future results and over the long run. Those with strong underlying numbers, typically end up with strong actual results. That applies in both spring training and the regular season. Can someone have strong on the field results, with poor underlying numbers? Yes, of course they can, but it's less common and is typically a sign those results aren't sustainable.
  5. That mentality shouldn't really change much when you head into the regular season...
  6. 2-3 with 3 ribeyes today. He's back baby!
  7. This isn't a good look man. Stop.
  8. It would be so amazing to see Bo have a vintage, healthy season and rip off 4.5 WAR again. It would put immense pressure on the FO on how to deal with that. I've always been a big fan of Bo and it would be interesting if he has a vintage season, of the Jays could get him back long-term for like half or less of what Vlad will cost
  9. Yeah - Borders is my guess also.
  10. Remember Bichette is a Blue Jay partly because they weren't going to try and change his swing and would allow him to do it his way. I suspect they still respect that agreement.
  11. Reports he was throwing 97-98 MPH in his first start were encouraging there may be more there, but I agree, the Jays would be very happy if he was a reliable #4/#5 for the next several years.
  12. Every Jays pitcher that reacts AAA turns into a pumpkin.

  14. This board would never harass anyone 🤥
  15. There is a possibility the shoulder surgery actually helps Varsho throw better (and hit better?). Who knows how long he'd been battling through pain/restrictions. That said, surgery can also be difficult to return from and there's obviously a lot of examples where it cost players power and such for awhile. Fingers crossed.
  16. Good to see Varsho is going to DH tomorrow. Little fun video here from Swanson Swanson narrates funny video about Bassitt, the giraffe 🦒 https://thescore.com/s/30404811
  17. ICE got him? 10-4. Thanks.
  18. What's up with Santander? Hasn't yet played in the spring. Has anyone heard anything? My 9 year old asks me about him daily - he just wants to see him mash in a Jays uni.
  19. Very cool Brock. Maybe a weekly summary would suffice and be easier to manage? King did it for a couple of years. Kudos for his commitment. But he left and nobody's really seen him since (to my knowledge). Maybe the daily MILB summaries broke him!
  20. We should hire Votto to work with him. Votto went like 8 straight years without having a single infield fly (or something ridiculous like that).
  21. @Brock Beauchamp - I had a thought/idea for you. Years ago, we had a board member (named King I believe - someone correct me if I'm wrong) who would provide a daily summary of the Jays minor league results. He would provide an update on scores and who performed well - and not so well (often providing snippets of box scores and such). He'd also keep us up to speed on trends - such as players who are on a hot streak/cold streak, players who were promoted, etc. Personally, I found it incredibly helpful and engaging as a Jays fan. It was always one of my favourite threads to read and helped me become much more informed on the organization. Not sure if that type of thing drives views or not, but it might be something to consider for one of your writers.
