Nimmala seems to be adjusting to AA pretty well - 122 wRC+ as a 20 year old. The wRC+ and K% is essentially the same as it was in A+. BABIP is inflated and the ISO has dropped a bit, so it may be a bit of a mirage, but he's sustained a lot of his BB%, which is encouraging. For a player who has initially struggled when moving up a level, I think it's encouraging. This seems to be a very good season of development for him. Exciting stuff.

I suspect he may be willing to waive the no-trade to accept a trade to the Brewers. Nobody else on the list seems to be a potential fit anyway, outside of the White Sox - and it will be interesting to see how aggressive they are.

Is arm strength percentile based on players who play CF? Or all defensive players? I'd be shocked that there are that many CFers with a worse arm. It must be all positions so it includes all the useless 1st and 2nd baseman who can't throw?

Sam Shaw is having a good year at A+ at age 21. 154 wRC+ in 142 PAs overall. Walking and striking out at a 22% clip.

We should probably get a look at Jay Harry before this season is over. He might be the best internal option we have unless we're willing to role with Lukes in CF next year...

Dante Nori could also be a target for the Jays. Philly definitely needs OFers and I'd have to think Varsho and Sanchez are potential fits? There are also rumors that Philly is looking for rotation help, which also makes us a good fit. Crawford and/or Nori would look good in a Jays uniform. Can we pry Jakob Marsee away from Miami? Is Washington ready to give up on Dylan Crews?

You're going to cite decisions Atkins made in 2016 to judge what he might do in 2026? That's an interesting choice. I generally agree that we don't have a lot of "value" to trade and thus we may not revamp the team via trade, but I think it's reasonable to suggest Atkins evaluates the situation at hand each year and makes independent decisions on the direction of the team.

Jacob Melton, Jett Williams, Kevin Alcantara would all seem like trade targets who "could" fill the CF hole and won't cost the farm.

I certainly don't want Brenton Doyle at that cost. He looks closer to a DFA candidate than a guy who's going to cost Sean Keys. I'd do that deal for Justin Crawford today if we could.

At least it looks like it will be a seller's market. The parity means a lot of teams believe they can get in. Very few will be pure sellers, which should help us get better value. Mason Miller got the A's a Top 5 prospect in baseball. If Varland could get you anywhere close to that (a Top 25 prospect, plus), would you do it? I think their will also be a market for Gausman and Bieber (if he can string a few good games together here). Which starter is going to get moved who's better than Gausman? There may be 1 or 2, but not many (I doubt). There will be a market. Setup men like Hoffman and Rogers will have value. Clement will too. Will be fascinating to see what happens.

Who would you fire and why?

It's so hard to know how much the injuries affected Kirk and Springer. Nobody expected Springer to repeat last year and I wasn't convinced Kirk was much more then a 110-115 wRC+ bat, but this has been awful - Kirk especially. Hope he can finish strong. He's a huge part of the future of this team. Him and fixing Vlad are the 2 most important elements of our future.

Springer has been swinging a better bat as of late. 109 wRC+ in June and like a 126 in July (after tonight). Still not what he was last year, but nobody ought to have expected that. But much better than the start of the year. Can't be easy to go through that foot injury. He tried to battle through it for the team like the trooper he is. Looks healthier now and I hope he finishes strong. Would love to see him to go another contender and get hot in the playoffs one last time. One of my all-time favourite players/Blue Jays who gave us some incredible moments.

I think it's a miracle people aren't calling for everyone to be fired. Several people on here spent years complaining about Shatkins, Atkins, Schneider and various assistant coaches - claiming they were all incompetent. Did 1 magical season make you change your mind? Now it's NOT Popkins' fault the Jays have the WORST offense in baseball? But it was Guillermo's fault in 2023? At least be consistent. LOL

Oh boy. I mean, you're right about lots of fans not knowing a damn thing about baseball, but they're often also apt to booing. To suggest fans don't boo the players because they are too loyal to the front office is insane, even for you. Ever think some people don't boo players because they think it's classless and pointless? That's why I don't boo players - it accomplishes nothing and makes you look like a pouting child. At least IMO. If you want to show the organization how upset you are with the product they've put on the field, than stop going and stop supporting them.

Hey - that's not what I did at all man. People were discussing the offensive issues and someone pointed out that the Jays managed to replace Bo with a quality bat. You tried to play the angle that they are different types of hitters and thus it may not be a true 1 for 1 replacement (which has some truth to it - which is why I supported what you said). I simply said I don't think difference in their approach moves the needle at all in terms of why the offense collapsed. It's the last of our worries. To be fair - the answer to why people love to swarm you is exactly the same reason you wrongly grouped me in with the others. It's because of past history. You're significantly better these days (maybe thanks to your AI responses? LOL), but for years, your views came across as ignorant and thus people swarmed you with counter posts - you were tared and feathered a lot. And of course I used to swarm you all the time, so you instinctively lump me in as a bad guy, no matter what my post actually says. The reality is it takes time to change habits and views/perception. Unfortunately, getting your back up like this and getting all pissy with people doesn't help. If it helps, I certainly try not to "attack" you these days and rarely have any urge to, because your posts are much more balanced and well thought out now - which makes me happy.
