  1. Was anyone here for the Canada/US game at Rogers Centre? That 9th inning was amazing....best I've ever been to live. I suspect tonight will topple that with leaps and bounds.
  2. My bad - I had it in my calendar for today. So tomorrow at 10?
  3. I'm there tonight too - can't wait...ready to get on that rollercoaster!
  4. anyone get single game tickets yet? Do they exist???
  5. Holland has been pretty bad this year. Joe Blanton's been nearly as valuable - Ryan Madsen has been!
  6. I think I told the board this awhile ago, but I went to a Christmas party back in 2011 and AA was there. He asked everyone to guess who his favourite prospect in the entire organization was....nobody guessed it was Sanchez, who was coming off some brutal results in rookie and A- ball... As noted above, the Jays have been married to him for a long time. If only his command/control caught up with the pure stuff he has.
  7. Was that the actual Blue Jays? or the moronic duo of Pat and Buck?
  8. Not sure if anyone has asked this question yet - but do we think Gibby is smart enough to demote Sanchez from the 8th inning role....or is he going to cost us playoff games? Personally - I worry it's the later because he's stupid.
  9. Going to the game this Wednesday with 3 other guys....the restaurant at windows is booked up and we're looking for a good place to eat before the game. Any suggestions? We're looking for quality food and a couple of brews. I prefer to avoid chain restaurants if possible. We'll be taking the subway in, so walking distance from the dome is required. Thanks guys.
  10. I think the question is - do you plan on the Cola/Smoak platoon at 1st next year, or move Jose there? If you take Jose out of the mix in RF, then I'm not overly comfortable with Revere/Piller/Pompey/Saunders....although I could totally see that being the situation with high hopes that Saunders proves some value and Pompey proves he can be a ML regular.
  11. Do the Stadium tour as well....it's well worth the nominal money it costs. When I was in Boston - we did the hop on - hop off bus tours too and found them to be excellent. We used that as our taxi as it was like 40 min round trip. Boston is a wicked City, you'll have a blast. I can't wait to go back....never heard of this batting practice tour - sounds like fun.
  12. Care to elaborate? Simply bc its old, historic and was the home Ruth built?
  13. You forgot the part where you note how amazing Yankee Stadium is....phenomenal place.
  14. Actually, you could argue Goins 12 dRS (combined between 2nd & SS) in only 834 combined innings is significantly better than Kinsler's 14 dRS in 1193 innings (prorated, Goins would have 17 in 1193 innings). But lets all be honest - neither games played or dRS are huge factors when it comes to the GG awards. God only knows what the buffoon writers based their votes on...it's all a joke.
  15. Why is Jose's injury related? I haven't noticed teams taking extra bases due to his arm woes... Jose just sucks in the OF now....sucks.
  16. I just landed Section 114R Row 2 seats vs. the Yanks on the 23rd.....please tell me that's when Stro is due to pitch!!!! Lovethestroshow!
  17. Hockey fans are also like interrupting the game so 2 goons can go fight each other. Also - here's hoping that moving forward, I can't just "move to another seat" when it's too hot out because the place is jammed!
  18. Thank god we believed in the adjustments that Jose and E5 made and kept them around instead of looking at their previous success (or lack there of). Obviously Goins is nowhere, I repeat nowhere near those 2, but at some point, it's not that short sighted to forget the past.
  19. Defensive metrics do not agree with Alomar being phenomenal defensively. It's really hard to compare then to now, but I do think a lot of people's memories have faded over time. Goins is at 1.5 dWAR this year in about 800 innings of work. Highest for a 2nd baseman in team history is Hudson in 2004 with a 2.8 dWAR over 1125 innings. Prorate Goins to those innings and he finishes with 2.1. O-Dogg wins.
  20. +1. I'm certainly not sold that Travis is a 130 wRC+ hitter. We traded Gose to get him. I like him and I'm rooting for him, but he still has a lot to prove.
  21. My 3 year old tells people to "stick it" all the time now....its actually pretty awesome.
  22. Wouldn't it be refreshing for MLB to come out and punish the umpire for being so bad at his job? Their like teachers in a union and that's BS if you ask me.
  23. This just in - Jackie Bradley Jr. has broken through the AAAA barrier. Not good for Jays fans.
