  1. Actually - you missed the point entirely. When you're facing elite pitchers, players will often eliminate certain pitches, or certain locations because it's simply too hard to cover everything. Given how hard seemingly everyone throws out of the bullpen these days, I think you're seeing this more often. I'm sure you'll argue "but what about right down the middle!"....although I don't think that's happened as much as you think. The casual fans says "that's too close to take" as if players should be able to cover every pitch, in every location, including a few inches off the plate in all directions when the guys throwing 96 MPH. Easier said than done man. I guess they could cut their swing WAYYY down to do that...but that might be counterproductive vs. assuming the ump is going to do his job correctly more often than not. This sounds like something Goose Gossage would promote...
  2. This is because most fans are stupid. They say "how can you sit there and watch the 3rd strike!!!" - completely oblivious to how hard it is to hit in the majors. The same people often complain that all NBA players don't shoot 95% from the free throw line. The answer is - don't listen to fans or people in general. Save the aggravation.
  3. I'm fairly sure my 5 year old knows to do this...
  4. I get all that and I think I was the first to question why Tabby and the Terminator kept calling him a good hitter...Perhaps I just like having someone who can play all over (even if it's poorly)...but really - who's a better option? Andy Burns?
  5. I like Parades versatility. I think he should stick as a bench bat when Travis returns. Parades Barney Thole Zeke
  6. We're talking about his hitting when this guy still can't even bunt properly. Gotta put in your work in the offseason kid.
  7. Tabby - is that you? F'ing Tabby. I've never heard someone rave sooooo much about the bat from a guy with a career wRC+ of 81. Don't get me wrong - I like the pickup. Switch hitter with defensive versatility (even if his defense sucks)....but let's not act like he hits like Ben Zobrist...
  8. does anyone think this will make a difference?
  9. who ya taking out of the starting lineup to put Revere in it.........I expect to hear crickets
  10. Rotoworld says he could be back with the team this weekend...TSN turning point?
  11. well then you'd be wrong. Unless you're Buck, Tabby or Goose Gossage - in which case, you'd just be clueless...lol.
  12. Huh? If he's throwing a different pitch, such as a cutter or 2 seamer and your comparing that velocity to the velocity of his 4 seamer in 2014 - and concluding that he's losing velocity......dats dumn.
  13. Happ was striking out over 9+ per 9 in Pittsburgh last year. Something is different this year - and it's a bad difference.
  14. His curve/slurve he threw in 2014 was nasty. I don't see that anymore. I also don't see any cutter in 2014 and I'm wondering if he should look to decrease the number of pitches he throws (less is more)....simplify. 4 seamer, 2 seamer, slider, curve and the odd change.
  15. Glad to see I'm not the only one roped into coaching. My son is Jr Rookie age and I said I'd help out when I could. I took 1 look at the 'head coach' and knew I'd have to run everything to avoid a massive gongshow.
  16. Elvis Andrus connected with a punch. Are you on social media complaining he should have gotten 8 games too?
  17. Actual conversation I just had..."hey hon, we're talking dicks on the BJMB...what do you think of uncircumcised dicks?" She said "they're nasty and you're weird".
  18. speak for yourself. I'd be cheering.
  19. I don't get this. Sanchez has been very solid. I know the Sanchez hate has been strong - but this is a bit much.
  20. Is there any footage of the Rangers bench and/or bullpen when Jose steps to the plate vs. Bush? I'm curious if they all knew this was about to go down... How does Jeff Bannister face his children? He's an embarrassment to mankind.
  21. A good friend of mine (Yankee's fan) proclaimed his newfound love for Odor in a similar manner....its pretty sad.
  22. Blair's also probably suggesting we call up Daniel Norris to take Sanchez's spot in the rotation... Sanchez is going to the pen at some point, but we're nowhere near it.
  23. I'm going to have to google "Brock Lesnar" style, as I'm not [insert WWE joke] and thus aren't up to date on the finishing moves of the WWE stars...However - thanks for the update. Is there a good clean video showing all this?
  24. So can we get a summary of who all got hit? Martin got taken down/punched? Dyson got punched by the bullpen catcher?
  25. I guess my issue with this is: 1. This isn't a one time thing for Bush. He's been a douchebag his entire life, proving over and over again that he's unable to be a productive part of society. The hit and run with jail time obviously is his "worst" offense to date and thus perhaps that will be the life changing movement. How many chances does he need? 2. I think it's ridiculous he only had to spend 3 years in jail for what he did. That of course isn't his fault, but I think he should still be a prison wolf getting his prison pocket worked over.
