  1. Would it be common for a player to post a wRC+ of 152 and strike out less than 18% of the time (and walk over 12% of the time) in AA with slow bat speed? Separate note - does anyone know what Tellez's splits are vs. LHP?
  2. I realise most prospects flop their first time in the bigs and end up going back to the minors for a little more seasoning, but is anyone else excited at the prospects of Tellez finishing 2017 as our starting 1st baseman? It's nice to think that by midseason we could see some youth that could give the team a boost. Not a guarantee by any means (see Astros, Houston) - but it's really been something this team has lacked the past 2 seasons.
  3. Try some music maybe? just a thought.
  4. Listening to Dean Blundell is your first issue...

  6. A real shame we can't see game 6 and 7 played at Wrigley Field simply because of some stupid Allstar game
  7. When I'm pitching I hate being on base and having to run the bases. But I'm fairly old and somewhat out of shape
  8. We'll that's stupid. Don't suggest stupid things please
  9. You're are incredibly ignorant.
  10. Except he has the least trade value of our 5 starters...
  11. Wow - I think the red uni's look stupid with the blue undershirts and elbow guards (I think I commented on that previously). I truly HATE this idea. Once or twice a year is fine if you ask me. We already have 3 different uniforms - now we're going to mix in a 4th one? It's a bit much.
  12. It happens here in Ontario. OHL hockey.
  13. Take 4 seconds and look at his stats before you post. He walks a lot, his OBP would never be 30 points higher than his average. When do you guys go into hibernation? I hope it's soon.
  14. Thank you. Not to mention he was above league average in 2015 with a wRC+ of 108. I don't like Smoak - but enough with the ignorant statements guys.
  15. Christ he's a better hitter than Pillar, Zeke, Barney and Goins. Yur dumn
  16. I think my sarcastic meter is broken....
  17. Good so nobody important or relevant.
  18. 44th in MLB in wRC+ in a down year....still very productive even if he should stick to DH and keep his mouth shut more
  19. Holliday on a one year deal (+ club option) would be a great balance of upside with limited risk. He may not give each us the ceiling of EE or Jose, but he isn't going carry the risk of massive dollars and years.
  20. We have to be the only fans in baseball lobbying for our team to sign Eric Thames...
  21. Revere was the 12th worst offensive player in major league baseball last year. Stick to prospects.
  22. Are you seriously one of those guys who brings those massive gloves to the ball park? WTF man.
  23. If you squint really hard - in SD over the past 2 partial years, Upton was looking much like the player he was in 2012 with the Rays (valuable 3 WAR player over a full season. wRC+ around 105 with plus BsR and defensive value). The issue is turned back into a pumpkin when he arrived in TO (like he did in ATL).
  24. The issue with Reddick is you might have to pay him like a full-time player. I'm really curious to see what he's valued at around the league...if you could get him here at a reasonable cost - he's a really good fit if you're looking for some lefty balance and a guy who doesn't strikeout very much. His wRC+ vs. RHP over the past 3 years is: 2016 - 138 2015 - 130 2014 - 141 The only real downer is his defense has apparently fallen off dramatically over the past 2 years and his BsR value fall off hard this year....that may scare Shatkins away - especially if he's commanding 3-4 years at $15+ AAV (and perhaps rightfully so).
  25. As pitiful as he was with the Jays, I do hold out some hope that he'll produce better next year when he's settled in and more comfortable in TO. He's a solid 3rd or 4th OFer who we can use in a platoon.
