    I'm find with ignoring pitchers and just focusing on our inability to draft good position players (perhaps I missed that we were looking at premium hitters only). Even if you focus on pitching during the draft, even by luck alone you should stubble on some decent position players somewhere along the way.

    Could add O-Dog. He had a solid career and was drafted by the Jays. And what about ROY Eric Hinske??? pinch hitter master... What happened to Rios btw? did he officially retire yet? I guess it's kind of hard to stick around the majors when you don't really like baseball to start with (and you're a jerk).

    So if you had 2 season tickets last year - you were able to get 6 seats for each playoff game? I get rubbing the balls of the folks to shell out for seasons tickets, but I would assume in most cases, the people who can afford season tickets (who already have lots of cash) simply sell some of those tickets at twice face value so they get to go for free. In turn, all that does is stuff the pockets of our local scummy scalpers and the executives of Stub Hub.... Give the real fans a chance to buy tickets at a somewhat reasonable cost!

    I think the board needs to reconsider is ranking system. Labelling you as a "prospect" and dogg as an "all star" is very misleading.

    Turn it down a notch. It's an interesting observation and discussion. Nothing wrong with some different topics on the board. The Jays haven't been able to draft quality position players for almost 2 decades now. It is a bit odd...

    Wow...they play in a league with Kendall and we're playing in Kendall for the AA OBA championship on the September long weekend. Just checked and Bowmanville isn't in the tourney. Small world. Great trade

    We've been lucky that Pineda and Severino have been garbage this year. They probably won't be so bad next year. Yanks are going to be good again soon. Win now!

    Except that trade could have been Montero and S.Miller (who were both ranked higher than TDA & Noah) and you'd be kicking yourself.

    If he pitches like he has over the past 8 games - he's going to run away with the Cy Young award. Massive spike in K's is going to help those counting stats too.

    Yup - I'm aware of this. The guy's career numbers are .165 / .198 / .238 and a wRC+ of 10. He has to be one of the worst compensation draft picks of all-time. This wasn't just a "miss" - it was a f***ing disaster. To be honest, it's kind of baffling he's still in the organization and/or playing baseball. 23 year old DH in A ball who can't hit. Shut it down young man and go find a career.

    I can't believe we drafted Jacob Anderson. I hate doing this, but JBJ and Trevor Story were right behind him.

    I've taken my 6 year old to 2 games this year. The massive comeback (D.Travis walkoff) vs. the Red Sox and the Canada Day game. 2 of the best days of my year.

    BTS is correct. The real question is - with a first round pick attached to him....what would he get on the open market? Is anyone really willing to go 3 years $60M + 1st round pick? Could we see another Dexter Fowler situation?

    It's not about wanting piece and quiet - it's about having fans who are there to watch and enjoy baseball. I can't stand the obnoxious drunks who know jack about the game (which sounds like your friends) who leave half way through innings because getting more beer is top priority. Trust me I have friends like this too. I just rarely go to games with them anymore.

    It must suck that you have to be drunk to watch/enjoy baseball. No offense but I despise being around guys like at the game.
