    Votto has the 15th highest career wRC+ of all-time. He's at another level offensively than Martin/Tulo. You point stands - but the chances that Votto falls off a cliff offensively is significantly lower than it is for Tulo/Martin.

    That basically describes what Dickey is man...Chavez has been a 3.85-3.90 FIP + xFIP starter the past 2 years.

    Don't forget the context. The only starters on the team when they traded for Chavez were Stroman, Dickey & Hutch. They had Sanchez - but nobody knew what he'd be able to give the team as a starter (and most expected him to struggle mightily). Estrada and Happ had not been signed yet (nor had Floyd). This team needed starting pitching depth BADLY. Could they have waited and seen whether they were going to get Happ/Estrada/Floyd? Maybe. Maybe not. Hard to know, but it's not hard to see a scenario where this team needed Chavez in the rotation a lot this year (injuries, Sanchez struggles, Happ signs elsewhere, etc.). It never materialized, but that doesn't mean they were wrong for adding the SPing depth. In all likelihood, we probably would have been a better team this year with Chavez in the rotation and Dickey/Thole sitting in Margaritaville.

    The bitching came from Zaun guys. Blair just tuned into the pregame (or post game - I forget) when Zaun went on his rant (I noted it on here because it sent the fans into a tither) and wrote and article about it because he's a tool.

    Nothing's changed. Stroman's fine. Dickey and Liriano are extremely unreliable. Liriano should be our LOOGY for the playoffs. Dickey can grab some popcorn.

    I always hear the turds on TV talk about Estrada's phenomenal command. He walking 3.21 guys per 9...do people on here really think he has great command? That's 25 worst in MLB (from qualified starters).

    2nd half he's like a 74 wRC+ hopefully it's just a slump but I wouldn't hold your breath

    I'd like to thank Zaun for the s*** storm of people now blaming the 6 man rotation on his struggles. He's sports out massive assumptions and convinces like half the fans that it's true.

    I suspect it was - but you could also just caulk it up to baseball....Martin's career wRC+ is 107 (essentially where he's at right now). There are a lot of ups and downs during a season. Martin got s*** on because his big slump was in April instead of July - but he's the same as he's ever been really. The concern is his defense hasn't been as strong, which has dragged down his value. The neck injury probably had a big effect on that as well. I love me some Martin. Him and Tulo are so easy to root for as anchors of this team.
