  1. I've always had the same opinion. That said, my best friend just got engaged. He wants a very small wedding with close friends/family only. I'm older now and much more financially stable and for the first time in my life I thought to myself the other day that I'd be all for a destination wedding. He's the last one from our friends group to get married, so maybe it's like the turning of an era and I want to go all out or something. Don't know. To be honest - I'm hoping someone says lets jump on a plane and go somewhere for the bachelor party too. We've done the bach parties in Toronto and Niagara Falls so much now that I'd like a change. New strippers to fondle I guess I skipped out on a couple of my friends weddings now (one destination, one out in Alberta) that would require me to pay a lot of money to attend. If I've perfectly honest, conversations arise about their weddings when the boys all get together and I feel super cheap for not going. Just something to be aware of if you're against destination weddings and are invited by good friends.
  2. Long run from the dugout to first base though!
  3. This is spot on. Valbuena would be a top 5 hitter in the Jays (as things sit today). Valbuena/Pearce + Morales would go a long way to replacing what EE & Jose gave us last year. Valbuena's a poor mans Carlos Santana.
  4. I know you're just trolling, but DD is not a top 5 player.
  5. The whole premise of the argument was that they shouldn't have signed Morales to DH because JD, Tulo and Martin are going to need time at DH to keep them healthy. You're not going to avoid Morales simply because you want Martin to DH from time to time. If you want to keep Martin fresh, you sign a competent backup catcher and sit Martin more. Heck you could argue there's no reason to "keep" Tulo's bat in the lineup as a DH the way he's hit the past 2 years.
  6. Did David Price actually say positive things about Detroit? That would be sign number 1 that he's full of s***.
  7. Sorry, for some reason your posts have really stood out to me over the past 2-3 weeks and after careful consideration, I've simply come to that conclusion and stated my opinion. You state random opinions all the time, so I trust you understand.
  8. WHY? He's a career 106 wRC+ player, who put up a wRC+ of 99 last year and projects at 97 for 2017. You don't need to find ways to keep his bat in the lineup. He's been a great player throughout this career because he's a good defensive catcher.
  9. Holy f*** you're stupid.
  10. Morales can play 1st (just as EE could). Russell Martin should not DH on his days off.
  11. We'll that settles that.
  12. The Rockies FO appears to be incredibly stupid.
  13. Checks roster...yep - Barney is still on the team. We're good. Harrison/Lawrie are really only needed if we use Travis as the centerpiece in a trade.
  14. Could you stipulate that Lawrie can't look like a vampire on coke anymore?
  15. Take out his worst month in any of his previous 4 years and the baseline changes...
  16. I can look up WAR totals on fangraphs like a champ! Christ - Barney was too in 200 fewer PA's
  17. Harrison was more valuable than Bautista last year. Between him and Barney, they could supplement Travis
  18. Good point. Starting pitchers have no extra time on their hands
  19. 4 years of Travis for 2 of Cutch? I think I would. Harrison projects to replace Travis nicely too.
  20. Then you probably wouldn't have signed him and we probably wouldn't have been a playoff team the past 2 years. We had a legit shot at winning the WS the past 2 years. I'm not trading that for anything. The issue is - the way we built the contender isn't sustainable....now we have to make the necessary adjustments. Here's hoping Russell is healthy this year. I expect a mild rebound with the bat (wRC+ in the 105-110 range) and for him to be solid defensively.
  21. Why would Pittsburgh want Tellez when they have Bell? Why would they want JD Martinez (although the idea of giving up Zeuch, Pompey and Greene for Cutch and Wilson is nice). What about this deal? to Pittsburgh Devon Travis Joe Biagini Jon Harris to Toronto McCutchen Josh Harrison Anthony Bastardo Pittsburgh clears a ton of $$ off their books, adds a young, controllable, good second baseman and they can convert Biagini to the rotation. Toronto adds Cutch without giving up Stro. Harrison can replace Travis at 2nd and they get a lefty for the pen. Thoughts?
