    35% GB rate 0.9 HR/FB Wowsers. That isn't sustainable. Still - it does look like he's ready for a new challenge.

    There is a lot more talent in bullpens now than ever before. The need for starters to "go deep" is not as necessary for success as it was in 10-20 years ago. The moto always used to be "work the starter and get him out early so you can prey on the bullpen". Look at the yankees now. You want to knock CC out early so you can face: Green Kahnle Robertson Betances Chapman I don't think so. In some cases, you no longer need a starter to get through a lineup 3 times - especially when the stats suggest the starters effectiveness the 3rd time through significantly drops.

    Dalton Pompey (concussion, leg) has been pulled off his minor league rehab assignment. Pompey batted .143/.172/.250 in eight rehab games between High-A Dunedin and Triple-A Buffalo just before the MLB All-Star break. He hasn't played anywhere in the last 10 days, and there is no clear timetable for his return to live action. The 24-year-old outfielder has been on the major league disabled list all season after suffering a serious head injury in the 2017 World Baseball Classic.     He never came off it. He was rehabbing in the minors and they just shut him down and transferred him to the 60.

    Meh - I'd prefer the stats and records stay with the City. There's no way the Arizona Coyotes should be using historical records and stats by Teammu Selanne and Dale Hawerchuk, while the current Winnipeg team uses historical stats from the old Thrasher teams.

    Unfortunately, he's the type of guy who probably won't net us anything in return because he has no name recognition. Good for Danny though, he's had a great year for us.

    So no then. I mean fine...payroll goes down during a rebuild? No s*** Sherlock. Retool/rebuild, sell off the vets, drop the payroll (to offset the lost revenue), build a sustainable winner. I don't understand why this isn't the obvious answer. Roger's doesn't lose money and the FO gets to build their own team, that hopefully is built for long term success. You could argue they are concerned the fans won't return, but recent data suggest that isn't true. The only other factor I see is the Jays help solidify and sell the Rogers brand? Losing would hurt the corporate brand? I'd love to know.

    Just noticed we have the 2 worst base runners in baseball on our team in Kendrys and Jose. Awesome stuff guys.

    Do you guys think Shatkins has full autonomy to do as they see fit with the team? Or do we think Rogers is tampering with their ability to do their jobs?

It's interesting to see some suggest that during the season, routine is key and that players will perform better when in routine. I suspect there's something to that for some, but not for others.

    Really? I think Cecil's was a lot tighter - thrown a lot harder (mid 80's). That thing starts well over the batters head and lands in the dirt. Looks like a loopy 12-6 thrown in the low to mid 70's.
