  1. It's Willy Garcia - not Avisail right?
  2. I love this idea. Low risk.
  3. 1. You mentioned moving Steve Pearce. He'll be with the Jays under contract next year too. If they couldn't get a lot at the deadline for him, there's no reason to move him now. Happ's basically in the same situation. 2. Bautista has a no trade clause. You can wish him gone all you want, but if he doesn't want to move, you can't trade him. 3. Smoak is under contract in 2018 (for peanuts) and 2019 under a club option. Unless you're getting a big return, there's no urgency to deal him now. 4. Unlikely anyone even called about Barney. Estrada could have been moved. No doubt....but we don't know the whole story here. Maybe the FO has spoken to him about resigning next year and he expressed a concern about uprooting himself and his family for the remainder of the year. Maybe the offers for him were so underwhelming it made no sense to upset him. This isn't anything to get upset with (given what we expect the return would have been). This FO isn't going to make rash decisions in hast man. You should be happy about that.
  4. yeah, um...the prospects we got today aren't going to help get us Sonny Gray. We'd be looking at giving up Alford + SRF + Zeuch + for Gray I'd imagine.
  5. They both kinda do via stat-scouting. Taylor just turned 19 (20 days ago) and has a wRC+ of 133 in low A ball as a 2nd baseman. That's a good lottery ticket in my books!
  6. In 2018 yes it would be. We're building for the future man (which probably shouldn't include Pillar).
  7. I think there's a chance that all 3 are on the team next year - along with Pillar in CF of course. DSJ playing mainly as a 4th OFer, but also in a semi platoon role. This trade makes me happy. A very creative way to get a solid lottery ticket in a much needed position.
  8. If Aoki is on our team in 2018 - we suck penis.
  9. Also clears a spot on their 40 to add Liriano.
  10. There was a point when he was valuable. That point was not the 2018 season.
  11. I guess it could be....better wait until we see who the minor leaguer is before we collectively lose our s***.
  12. http://i.imgur.com/gkypeh7.gif WTF.
  13. I just read the Cubs gave Steve Bartman a WS ring. That's kinda cool and kinda stupid all in one.
  14. +1. The guys we got from Pittsburgh are awful. But then again, most lottery tickets are losers....the guy we get for Liriano will probably also be a loser. However, buying a lottery ticket is always fun.
  15. Just when I thought our OF defense couldn't get any worse...
  16. The DH position seems pretty full already man.

  18. This makes me smile a little. Somewhere the Cleveland FO must be counting their lucky stars that Lucroy blocked a trade to them (in which they were rumoured to be giving up Mejia). I also just read Cleveland is considering a Mejia for Darvish trade.
  19. Wouldn't Groome or Chavis be a hefty price tag on a reliever? I mean Reed's been good this year, but still.
  20. Adrian Beltre is 1 hit away from 3,000. I LOVE watching these historic moments happen.
  21. That is the problem man. I don't think the Jays should give 2 f***s about people who buy season tickets simply to try and make money selling them on the secondary market. You're basically complaining that the Jays are raising prices and making it difficult for you to profit off their tickets. That's f***ed up.
  22. Perhaps I was oblivious to it before, but it certainly appears cocaine use is way up in our area on a recreational level. It's been a massive issue in the NHL for years too, so I'm not surprised it's an issue in MLB (or the NFL/NBA for that matter).
  23. Well f*** I hope he impacts the baseball. That's kind of the point.
  24. Most people didn't want anything to do with that contract when his elbow was healthy man...
