  1. Remember at the start of the year we talked about him being above average out there? lies!
  2. Interesting. He probably looks at Mike Leake signing a $80M/5 year deal and says - yes please.

  5. "Matz (not throwing the Warthen slider so he can make some money)" Is his slider considered one of the factors for the injuries to Thor, Matz, deGrom, Harvey, etc.?
  6. Meh - I'd prefer the stats and records stay with the City. There's no way the Arizona Coyotes should be using historical records and stats by Teammu Selanne and Dale Hawerchuk, while the current Winnipeg team uses historical stats from the old Thrasher teams.
  7. and former 6th overall pick, Colin Moran to call up - who's had a great year in AAA.
  8. Unfortunately, he's the type of guy who probably won't net us anything in return because he has no name recognition. Good for Danny though, he's had a great year for us.
  9. This is like comparing my 5 years old's spelling to my 2 year old's spelling...
  10. So no then. I mean fine...payroll goes down during a rebuild? No s*** Sherlock. Retool/rebuild, sell off the vets, drop the payroll (to offset the lost revenue), build a sustainable winner. I don't understand why this isn't the obvious answer. Roger's doesn't lose money and the FO gets to build their own team, that hopefully is built for long term success. You could argue they are concerned the fans won't return, but recent data suggest that isn't true. The only other factor I see is the Jays help solidify and sell the Rogers brand? Losing would hurt the corporate brand? I'd love to know.
  11. Just noticed we have the 2 worst base runners in baseball on our team in Kendrys and Jose. Awesome stuff guys.
  12. Do you guys think Shatkins has full autonomy to do as they see fit with the team? Or do we think Rogers is tampering with their ability to do their jobs?
  13. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/players-view-who-can-handle-the-ninth/ Interesting to hear players and managers take on who can handle the ninth. Gibby's view is included. It's interesting to see some suggest that during the season, routine is key and that players will perform better when in routine. I suspect there's something to that for some, but not for others.
  14. Really? I think Cecil's was a lot tighter - thrown a lot harder (mid 80's). That thing starts well over the batters head and lands in the dirt. Looks like a loopy 12-6 thrown in the low to mid 70's.
  15. Wondering if it helps set the market for a guy like Joe Smith.
  16. reminds me of David Wells. Minus the gut.
  17. The guy couldn't throw with his right arm 2 days after throwing 108 pitches? That's weak for indy ball.
  18. No discussion on what the A's got for Doolittle and Madsen?
  19. The Raps should take a flyer on Mario Hezonja
  20. "Sosa, whose pigmentation has gotten progressively lighter since he retired from baseball a decade ago, said in 2009 that the change in color is the result of a cosmetic cream he uses on his face before going to sleep." If this is true (and I doubt it is) - seeing him with his shirt off would be really freaky. Following in the footsteps of MJ is not a good look for anyone. He looks like death.
  21. That is boner-ific.
  22. I find this is no longer successful. Unless nobody likes my gifs.
  23. Are you saying in Boston that STH get to take batting practice at Fenway (not watch it - but actually step up to the plate and hit)? If so, that's awesome. They should have added that in Fever Pitch!
  24. What happened to him? I must have missed it
  25. I mean I get your point to some extent, but can't people with lots of money decide they'd like to do something different? Professional athletes are away from their families a lot and at some point...the extra millions may not matter Note - no idea of Rasmus has a family. He's really ugly
