1. You mentioned moving Steve Pearce. He'll be with the Jays under contract next year too. If they couldn't get a lot at the deadline for him, there's no reason to move him now. Happ's basically in the same situation.
2. Bautista has a no trade clause. You can wish him gone all you want, but if he doesn't want to move, you can't trade him.
3. Smoak is under contract in 2018 (for peanuts) and 2019 under a club option. Unless you're getting a big return, there's no urgency to deal him now.
4. Unlikely anyone even called about Barney.
Estrada could have been moved. No doubt....but we don't know the whole story here. Maybe the FO has spoken to him about resigning next year and he expressed a concern about uprooting himself and his family for the remainder of the year. Maybe the offers for him were so underwhelming it made no sense to upset him. This isn't anything to get upset with (given what we expect the return would have been).
This FO isn't going to make rash decisions in hast man. You should be happy about that.
