    Is Buck f***ing stupid? Castillo took off when he saw the ball pop out, then went back when he saw the ump call the batter out. Listening to this putz explain this situation over and over...f*** me..make it stop.

    Yeah I don't know if his bat is good enough for that. Career wRC+ of 109. Projected at 95 this year. Defense and base running are average at best. There's a good chance that Solarte should be starting over him.

    It's astonishing that for the past century - managers haven't thought about putting one of their 3 best hitters in the leadoff spot...I think change is finally upon us.

    Rockies sign Blackmon to a 6 year extension.

    He was absolutely dominant last year before he broke his wrist and spent 6 weeks on the DL. Before that DL stint, Freeman was arguably the best hitter in baseball, slashing .341/.461/.748 (.485 wOBA) over the first 6 weeks of the season. This isn't a SSS - he's an elite hitter (with or without lineup protection, which is as fictional as Noah's Ark)

    I just read through that a bit. What I took was a lot of people suggesting Duquette didn't want to sign Chris Davis, he wanted to trade Machado and Britton last year, etc. They suggested Buck had a role in these decisions....I assume he voiced his opinion to Peter Angelos who trumped Duquette? If so, Duquette's a little cuck, he should resign.

    What was his observation? That JD was throwing at 85-90%, which all the coaches agreed would be fine?

    Gibby is not going to do this. We have 3 extreme GB starting pitchers. Gift is on the team for this reason. If we can't hit, and beat Carson Fulmer and the rebuilding White Sox with one awful hitter in our lineup - then we're in some serious trouble. If anything, the question might be whether you sit Morales again and put either JD or Solarte (or even Travis) at DH. Given how much Morales has sat already, I doubt we see that. I'd bet Solarte gets the night off. His feet are likely sore from all the dancing anyway.
