So Galvis just went in and stood in front of Betts to distract him and prevent him from stealing signs and/or relying location to the batter. I've never seen that before. Unreal.

f*** I have hard time wrapping my head around '4.2 BB/9 is perfectly fine' - even when it comes from Laika.

Josh James is definitely a good comp for Glasnow. I'm not sure Fisher has the pedigree of a Meadows, but he isn't far off James + Beer would be an interesting start, although with Vlad already, we may be filling out up 1st/DH with young players pretty quick. Don't like Fisher as a piece, would rather someone with a higher ceiling like Freudis Nova or JBB.

Meadows had a wRC+ of 111 with Pittsburgh (albeit with awful defense)...however that was after coming off almost 500 PA's in AAA with a wRC+ <100. TB fixed him.

Yeah it's hard to know if they're talking about the current, post trade value....or what they were at the time, which was a pair of once very highly regarded prospects who seemed to fizzle out in AAA and/or their first few shots at the ML level. Obviously both are very talented, but they were both viewed somewhat as reclamation projects (guys who needed a fresh start) at the time of the trade.

Is there really a huge difference between AA and AAA? I guess there are more old journeyman pitchers in AAA that spin the ball better and what not. It doesn't seem like a big concern to me. Brito and Pompey are in AAA as insurance policies for injuries so we don't have to prematurely add Wall to the 40 man roster and/or start burning options.

DeJong's wRC+ had dipped down to 103 Goldy's wRC+ 105 Wong's back down in the mid 80's Harrison Bader has the sophomore slump at 76 Carpenter's at 86 Jose Martinez is at 101 Mikolas and Flaherty turned back into pumpkins Carlos Martinez and Reyes can't stay healthy - both might be pen pieces now Andrew Miller looks done....are they using him as a LOOGY? 41 games, 28 1/3 innings pitched this year Wacha looks done Hicks is hurt Dakota Hudson BB/9 is over 4 I mean f*** me - that's basically the opposite of the Twins season. I don't like the Cards, but man, what a s*** show that must be for fans.

Fairbanks is the RP version of Glasnow. Huge extension and arm angle will make his 96-98 MPH fastball look like 100+

Nice. What do you mean when you say "and considering the fact that he's a March birthday it basically means he's a full year younger than anyone else achieving that". Do you mean Carter Kieboom's birthday is in September, therefore he's 21 throughout this baseball season and you consider that his age 21 season? I never look at it that way. Kieboom turns 22 this year...this is his age 22 season IMO. Perhaps there's some unwritten rule about that sort of thing. I guess what I'm getting at is wRC+'s of 120 and 113 in AA and AAA isn't 'amazing' in a bubble. Curious how much age impacts those results and looking for some comparable players to gauge accordingly.

I don't want to give tercet any fuel, but can someone rhyme off some 'stars' that posted a wRC+ of 120 in AA (age 20) and a wRC+ of 113 in AAA (age 21)? Just looking for some comparable bat/age/position combinations to put things in perspective for me. Thanks. Lindor? Amed Rosario? Willy Adames?

Maybe just remove the kids from the OF? While I'm sure it's really fun and awesome for them - they don't add anything to the event and create a safety hazard. Waiting until the ball drops is dumb. Let them throw as quickly as they can. The fans want HR's and the ability for someone to claw back, come from behind and win.
