  1. Sorry BR - I was going off your 'bored' mock drafts where I think you tabbed Caissie as our 5th round pick!
  2. Isn't Owen Caissie projected as like a 5th round pick? Can't we take him at 77th and still get him to sign well under slot? Seems like there are some really talented kids at 42 that we shouldn't pass on.
  3. If we need an extra $1M for Martin - then punt the 4th and 5th pick. This s*** ass 5 round draft is f***ing us over a bit......
  4. Kiley has Beeter as the 3rd best pitcher in the draft, Witt 6th and Logan Allen 9th. Let's get one of them.
  5. whoops - I was just looking at players projected to go before the 42nd pick in various mocks. Figures I'd f*** one guy up. Thanks.
  6. Yes - but as a SR, he'd have absolutely zero leverage. That seems highly unlikely.
  7. There is going to be a s*** ton of great talent available for the Jays in Round 2 College Pitchers JT Ginn Clayton Beeter Cole Wilcox Logan Allen Christian Roa Chris McMahon College Bats Dillon Dingler Zach DeLoach Casey Martin High School Arms Tanner Witt Masyn Winn Dax Fulton Jared Kelley Who do you guys want? Who's your guy? I like Beeter, but Tanner Witt would be insane if we can afford him.
  8. Westburg looks like a good pick for the O's
  9. So they took him knowing he wouldn't sign so they could get the pick back next year? This draft is really strong and deep - why the F would they do that?
  10. So I never looked into Martin much because I didn't think we had a shot at him. Can you guys help fill in the gaps? Did he play in the Cape Cod league? How'd he do with wood bats? What are his current and projected tools (Hit, Power, Speed, Defense, etc.)? I think I've heard he's a potential 20/20 top of the order hitter. Trackman stats - I saw 54% of the balls he put in play had an exit velocity > 95%, but does anyone else have any other #'s on him?
  11. Torkelson's bat is special. Career NCAA stat line: .337 / .463 / .729 - OPS of 1.192 Martin's career NCAA stat line: .368 / .474 / .532 - OPS of 1.007
  12. HERE WE GO BOYS love this.
  13. Holy f*** boys - do we like Lacy?
  14. O's being the O's....f*** YA
  15. I'm shocked there isn't much discussion about how a 1st baseman is about to go 1st overall in 2020. That tells you how special his bat is I guess.
  16. When there's no fans in the seats - how can full prorated salaries be considered the baseline? Edit - why am I doing this to myself.
  17. Grant - MLB offered a 48 game season with full pro-rated salaries. That was their concession. Very easy for someone to simply say the players should have accepted something like that.
  18. What do we expect to happen with these guys who don't get drafted? Are the top organizations (Yanks, Red Sox, Dodgers, etc.) going to gobble up a s*** ton of talent, while s*** holes like Baltimore won't? Or will guys who just miss out on getting drafted go back to school and re-enter the draft next year?
  19. what is Veen's hit tool at now? You hear there is some swing and miss in his approach, but he's got great plate discipline and that swing is f***ing picturesque.
  20. MLBPA is proposing 89 games with full pro-rated salaries and expanded playoffs. For f*** sakes - meet in the middle and get on with it. 82 games, 90% pro-rated salaries and no expended playoffs - giddy up.
  21. To be fair - the MLBPA are a bunch of f***ing cry babies and I suspect nothing they propose (even just reverse order of the shortened season standings) will be good enough or viewed as fair.
  22. Why do people compare Meyer to Walker Buehler? Just based on the slender, athletic frame? Buehler is listed at 6'2" and has a 4 pitch mix. I don't even see a ton of similarity in their deliveries.
  23. As if I needed another reason to hate the Royals.
  24. Fair point - I never considered it from a contract negotiation aspect. Appreciate the input. That said, it seems odd that if they are negotiating with Veen, that leaked rumours they really like Meyer would play any tangible role (however, I've never negotiated a $6M deal, so what do I know - I'd probably s*** my pants).
  25. Why would there be any need for a smokescreen in the MLB draft when you can't trade picks? That makes no sense.
