When was the last time you felt the Jays were good - or even adequate at developing pitchers? AA drafted A LOT of pitchers. Stro, Sanchez and Osuna had impact and Thor was traded, but clearly he had to trade for and/or sign Josh Johnson, Dickey, Price, Buehrle, Happ, Estrada, Hawkins, Morrow, Delabar, Santos, etc. He certainly wasn't able to create a pitching development factory. JP Ricciardi didn't do much of anything well. Gord Ash? I think it's a fair criticism to suggest Atkins has fallen short on the draft/development side of things, but this has been an issue for the Jays for decades. But I think a lot of teams struggle with it - or at least struggle to do it consistently. Heck - even the Dodgers kinda suck at developing pitchers recently. They have like 9 aces and none of them were drafted by the Dodgers (Yama, Sho, Glasnow, Skubal, Snell, Sasaki, etc.). They've developed Wrobleski and Sheehan, who are both back of the rotation arms, but they've had to invest like $85T to build a rotation and half them sit on the IL for most of the season. I'm sure every team in baseball would love to replicate the success the Guardians have had in developing pitchers (seemingly out of nowhere). Very few organizations can and/or have though - and I do think it becomes cyclical - as there are other factors involved.

It seems wild he's so bad defensively. I thought it was some super utility guy - most guys like that don't suck at LF.

He threw out 17 in 118 games last year. He's thrown out 13 in 65 games this year. So no.

I'd suggest you get used to it. He doesn't throw well. Never had, never will.

Oh boy - if only our manager had balls and our organization has people that knew baseball within it. How sad.

Almost every failed starter who goes to KBO or Japan seems to do when upon return. We should send our draft picks overseas instead of the minors.

The odds are certainly stacked against us. But they have been for months now. The pitching issues are all magnified because the offense is the worst in baseball. But there in lies the beauty of baseball. Sometimes you beat the odds. Sometimes the best teams don't win.

What information do you want to get out of him that you feel is so important? You want him to say that Vlad has been awful this year and needs mental training? Would that make you feel better if Schneider said the obvious stuff out loud? Or you want him to say he thinks Atkins is a moron or something spicy? Or you simply want him to blurt out something while angry? How would you even know if what he says is true - or just his frustrations coming out?

Bullsh*t PR responses to questions are pointless. Reporters may not ask though questions, but managers are trained and no longer answer with headline making responses. They aren't stupid like the older managers were. But it didn't matter as much back then because there was no social media to spread it like a wildfire. That's just how it is now for obvious reasons.

I believe part of that is often because the players feel guilty they cost a man his job, so they sometimes just lock in more. A different voice can just shake sh*t up too.

Peters is one of the best stories in baseball this year. An 18 pitch at bat is crazy.

It's a good reminder that LOTS of players are morons. That one was particularly stupid and selfish. First pitch of the 3rd inning when you only have 1 challenge left? Doesn't get much worse than that. Do the Tigers not prepare their players? hrmmm
