  1. The Jays also have this and should end up with 10 positional players with 2 or higher WAR. Unfortunately, the Braves 6th best positional player has more WAR than the Jays top positional player. That's where the comparison ends.
  2. I don't really care how you put it. If you think the people running a multi-million dollar business must be morons and think you know better than them - 99% of the time, you're f***ing wrong.
  3. Ever think you may not be privy to all the information that leads to these decisions? Ever consider that information may be technically correct, but, just like every decision, comes with a probability of failure? Just asking as you seem 1 million % confident that everyone in the Blue Jays FO and coaching staff is a moron, and, well, the likelihood of that being true just isn't very high...
  4. Utter dog s***. Embarrassing performance. I'm afraid the Bills window has closed. They look like garbage.
  5. It's gruber. There's rarely a point.
  6. oh yeah - the old men who hate change hate Manfred still. I hope I'm more self aware of how old and crusty I am when I enter that phase of life where I hate change and can't grasp new concepts.
  7. I LOVE how stolen bases are a factor in baseball again. I love looking at the leaderboard and seeing that guys like Carroll is going to have a 25/50 season and Witt Jr is going to have a 30/40 or 30/50 season and multiple guys are going 30/30 this year. Simply put, the rule changes implemented this year have been incredible. It shows in viewership (up 9% I believe) and it shows in the product on the field. Kudos to MLB for making it happen.
  8. Matt Olson is going to get to like 55 HRs, 135 RBI and 125 Runs and he isn't going to sniff the MVP this season. That's insane.
  9. No way he gets to 40/80 is there? 40/75 maybe?
  10. Great point gruber. As of August 1st, before Davis Schneider and all the other reinforcements came, the Jays were WAYYYYY down at 7th in MLB with a 107 wRC+.
  11. For Love of The Game is another beautiful baseball movie that I can't watch enough and Facing Nolan is on Netflix right now. A documentary on the career of Nolan Ryan. I thought it was incredible.
  12. Jays are now 6th in MLB with a team wRC+ of 109.
  13. I tend to agree with Fangraphs that Baltimore isn't nearly as good as their record indicates and I would like nothing more than to beat the s*** out of Baltimore in the WC round to prove that point and send them packing. However - Baltimore certainly seems to have our number this year and I really want nothing to do with them in the playoffs until we absolutely have to.
  14. Cubs are calling up PCA.
  15. Jays players will have extra incentive to try and f*** Cole up to help their boy Gaus win the Cy Young. Hope they do. A couple of losses and an ERA over 3 for Cole would help a lot.
  16. Beautiful start to the season - won me a free round of golf at an expensive course - curtesy of my buddy who's a huge Bears fan. Hope Jones isn't out long and Watson can return soon - they need those 2 explosive playmakers. Love looked solid IMO. Liked what I saw from Musgrove, Reed and Doubs also. Nice to see Von Ness pick up a sack in his first game. I'm curious to see how quickly he comes along.
  17. The Jays now have 8 players with 2+ WAR on the season and should finish with 10, with Varsho and Kirk joining them. Vlad will not be one of the 10.
  18. I worked at DQ in 1999 and their registers did the math on the change back then...
  19. I can't say I'm overly surprised. Mitch White isn't nearly as s***** as fans think. Just like Stripling and Kikucci weren't either.
  20. I don't get this. "Almost" all cash registers these days don't open until the cashier punches in the amount given to them - which then tells them how much change to provide. You must have been in some shithole with 1960 registers. If you're in the Soo - I guess that makes sense.
  21. I could probably buy into the notion that you need to make it as accessible as possible for essential services like the grocery store. I'd also be curious of the numbers you posted, how many are over the age of say 65? I would expect within the next 10-15 years, that number will drop as generations who didn't grow up with technology pass.
  22. This umpire is f***ing terrible.
  23. Buck does this almost everyday. In general, the game has passed him by. I think there is some validity to starting pitchers "learning" to pitch through challenges - but that's also not a reasons to let you starter go 7 innings every night, regardless of the results. Just because it worked for pitchers like Greinke and Maddux doesn't mean it will work for everyone.
  24. Interesting - I think cashless is great. Why can't a private business run it however they want? There are places that don't take credit card or charge you more to use a credit card. I hate that, but if I don't like it, I just don't shop there. People with cash only can go buy pre-paid credit cards can they not? Then they could go to the Jays games. Of course they could also go and just not buy any food/drink/clothing also.
